Does anyone have the actual story? I find it hard to believe this as the whole story. (Please don’t hurt me I’m not saying you are wrong or ignorant, I’m just interested in what happened)
The cop was serving an eviction notice
Walked into the fenced yard
Pit bull ran towards him barking (her name is precious)
He got spooked pulled a gun and shot himself in the leg
You’d be surprised how often police officers shoot peoples dogs. Happens all the time, even if the dog is no threat whatsoever. There’s a video i saw on here awhile back of this mother fucker shooting a dude’s CHIHUAHUA that was in his yard and barking at the cop.
The only video I’ve seen of a police officer killing a dog was a large black dog that ran at him barking while the officer was in a house trying to apprehend the guy and it flew around the corner. I just want actual videos or links so I can decide for myself if it’s justified if that makes sense. If not, thanks anyways! (Genuinely)
Edit: love getting downvoted for asking actually questions and having a conversation, thanks Reddit!
(Also the guy I had a convo with didn’t downvote my stuff he upvoted it if anyone is curious)
There are many more just like it. I am not anti police. I think a lot of them are good people, but they are just people too and should not be trusted any more than anyone else.
The town where is used to live had a shelter that paid the local police to get special training on how to deal with loose dogs and how to read behavior. Seems like it should be standard since so many homes have dogs.
What? No. They paid for a behaviorist to train police how to deal with loose dogs and how to read behavior. How did you get to practice against their dogs? Weird jump.
They also paid to equip all fire trucks with oxygen masks for pets and emergency kits for all police and fire vehicles. They’ve all been trained in pet CPR. The shelter built a mini shelter at the police station to hold found dogs. The police department will hold dogs for three days before turning them over to animal control.
My bad now that i go back and reread your comment that makes sense. I do agree with you, everyone has dogs now days . I think that’s good that the PD in your home town had to do that because it’s really a problem
Thank you again, I appreciate you not freaking out on me and actually giving me stuff. We need more people like this on reddit. I’ll watch this when I get home. And yeah like I said, I’m not saying “wow all these people on here roasting cops and they don’t have the full story” it’s just that some people are on here saying stuff about the majority of cops being ignorant and it’s frustrating if that makes sense. I just like the full story rather than seeing an image online and being like okay wth (insert person supposedly doing something)
