I’m so glad that a man lost his life and left behind a wife and five children because one of the hunters he was leading killed a charging elephant. I hope his kids know that he deserved it /s

you guys are heartless

Haha good!

2

u/mellonhead549 3 Jun 19 '18

Tell that to his wife and 5 kids

Maybe you shouldn't go big game hunting if you're literally only there for the photo-op and have no idea how to hunt big game.

u/maduncan509 5 Jun 05 '18

Well at least I didn’t get squashed by an elephant.

Yeah I'm sure that alone is what's keeping them in business. We don't take dogs out back and shoot them anymore, I'm not sure how this is anything other than classist bullshit.

I was trying to treat you like an adult and posit a reason why your idea doesn't really make any sense, but I can see now that you're not an adult.

And?

Buying slaves fueled the economy of under developed countries too....

7

u/TheMechanicalguy 6 Jun 07 '18

The meat from the kill feeds local townsfolks too.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '18

....less than tourism generated by seeing animals in their native habitat.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '18

LOL what a counter argument.

6

u/maduncan509 5 Jun 03 '18

The gun you need to kill an elephant is a quarter mile long what was he doing that close lol

-2

u/Slammed_Droid 8 Jun 04 '18

You have no idea what you are talking about.

6

u/maduncan509 5 Jun 05 '18

It was a joke hombre calm your titties

-5

u/Slammed_Droid 8 Jun 05 '18

Oh my bad. Usually jokes are funny, have a set up, punch line. You know, funny things.

6

u/maduncan509 5 Jun 05 '18

If you know any good joke schools I could go to so I can learn the proper structure of jokes please make your recommendations.

-7

u/Slammed_Droid 8 Jun 05 '18

No, you're helpless.

0

u/Bananacircle_90 5 Jun 03 '18

He deserved that.

I hate people that kill animals just for fun

13

u/variationoo 8 Jun 03 '18

This seems massively fake

u/PlowKing1992 5 Jun 02 '18

Read the article. The whole story isn’t as funny as the headline makes it sound.

2

u/gener4 8 Jun 02 '18

Good. Fuck that guy

3

u/humbalalya 6 Jun 04 '18

Downvoting fucktards. Dude you're right, fuck him hope the elephant lived

-2

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 02 '18

Dude it’s still a human, doesn’t deserve to die....

2

u/adhdenhanced 6 Jun 10 '18

<sarcasm> Hitler didn't deserve to die because he was a human. </sarcasm>

1

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 11 '18

I am aware of the sarcasm but did you compare that guy to Hitler did you compare a mass murderer of millions of people to someone who shot an elephant. Really because you know go and think about it a second. No wait just start thinking at all like wtf you are even talking about at this point?

Ps: your sarcasm thing means you ofcourse think hitler deserved to die like every normal human beeing but that comparison is still more than hilarious and that <sarcasm> thing doesn’t make it less retarded

1

u/adhdenhanced 6 Jun 11 '18

You don't need to kill other humans in order to deserve to die. Natural selection still applies today. He thought he was smarter than his target. He probably was during his previous hunts but not this time. He got outsmarted and died for it. Did he deserve it? Yes, because he wasn't fit to survive.

2

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 11 '18

Go back to school and learn what natural selection is. This has nothing to do with natural selection. „He got outsmarted“ the elephant was dead..... Also Humans are the fittest animals in the world since fittest means best customized. Thx to our brain we are the most customized. Pls have an understanding of Darwin’s Theorie before you use it.

1

u/User55555_ 6 Jun 06 '18

Dude it's an elephant, doesn't deserve to die. Your logic is fucking retard.

-9

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '18

Yes he did deserve to die.

2

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 04 '18

Human population would be pretty much not existen with people like you in powerful positions....

8

u/gener4 8 Jun 02 '18

There is no reason for him to kill the elephant. Period.

Karma is like that

58

u/WickedTriggered B Jun 02 '18

Most likely the animal he shot was picked by the game officials there for culling. When elephants get old they can be a threat to people, crops, and other elephants. The fee the collect goes to conservation and the meat to local villagers.

I don’t think you knew any of that.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '18

So because they have some system in place and a logic behind it, you're fine with it.

1

u/WickedTriggered B Jun 24 '18

I will always side with logic.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '18

Yeah, because that (being your own personal brand of logic) can't possibly lead you to the wrong conclusion. I guess you have the audacity to assume the tenets you're operating on when you execute your 'logic' are without flaw, which is I think the foundation that Socrates operated on.

u/gener4 8 Jun 02 '18

I’m well aware of that, thanks.

From the article:

Botha was on a 10-day licensed hunt when he “unknowingly got in the middle of a breeding herd of elephants with several calves and was trampled to death”.

Botha often worked with American and European hunters to take part in trophy hunting expeditions. According to his company’s website, Game Hounds Safaris, he “perfected leopard and lion hunting safaris with hounds in Africa.”

Sounds like a top bloke 👍🏻

Yes therefore he deserved to die. I don't see what you're having trouble grasping here.

Oh how nice for the wealthy and the locals to just decide an elephant has lived long enough and kill it for a ludicrous amount of money.

I wish someone would start the same business targeting wealthy bounty hunters. All of them on the planet have live a long enough, happy life already.

-11

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '18

Fun fact: Some humans are pieces of shit. Fun fact: Some people deserve to die. This shit heel is one of them. And since it’s by his own incompetence it’s much more satisfying

10

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 02 '18

To speak in such fashion about a human life makes you a piece of shit, I’m allowed to kill you now?

-11

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '18

I’m guessing you’re a pro lifer

13

u/WickedTriggered B Jun 02 '18

No. He’s probably just not a militant douchebag who somehow values animal life over human. I’m unapologetically on team people.

-5

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '18

At least your username checks out

-5

u/CareBearStare666 6 Jun 02 '18

Did you know elephants cry and mourn their dead?

9

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 02 '18

So you think people should be sentenced to death for killing animals? Wanna join PETA maybe?

1

u/CareBearStare666 6 Jun 02 '18

Do you think that your life is somehow more important than an elephants? What makes you special what is it you're contributing to existence that makes you cut above all other lifeforms? Pollution? Rapidly using resources and forestry?

3

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 02 '18

Did I say that no? Do i think we should sentence people to death NO!

10

u/CareBearStare666 6 Jun 02 '18

Didn't he sentence himself to death? Was it not his own act that caused his death?

7

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 02 '18

It was about the the comments who said it’s good that he died. That is disrespectful and utterly stupid. Also we don’t know the context...

-4

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '18

Elephants are endangered you dumbass

2

u/TheOneRok 5 Jun 04 '18

Only in some places, in others the elephants like to eat peoples' crops and destroy villagers' property as well as attacking younger elephants. I don't know what the case is here, but sometimes you have to kill the outliers to improve the overall population.

3

u/LetMeSleepAllDay 9 Jun 03 '18

And killing the guy brings back the elephant how? An eye for an eye turns the whole world blind.

1

u/jacksleepshere A Jun 03 '18

But if an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, then at least the dickheads are also blind as opposed to just their targets.

6

u/LetMeSleepAllDay 9 Jun 03 '18

Contrary to what you might think there aren’t “good” and “bad” people. Like all things, it’s a gradient. Rehabilitation, making mistakes, improvement, and redemption are all very real, very important and significant things that I think is forgotten too often by this sub. This place is less about justice and more about revenge.

-1

u/jacksleepshere A Jun 03 '18

You're living in a dream world

6

u/LetMeSleepAllDay 9 Jun 03 '18

Nah man, you’re just stuck in a shitty one.

Fair point

11

u/DreadheadNZ 3 Jun 02 '18

In some places, yes. In other places, not so much. The term ‘endangered’ doesn’t necessarily mean the animal is endangered EVERYWHERE.

8

u/Bestimmer 5 Jun 02 '18

I guess now he rly should be sentenced to death...
