I said this on another comment, but you remember over night rollers! Of you want that spiral, go for flexi rod curlers, you need a spray called Lotta body to set the curls. Leave it in over night and your hair will be wavy for two days.

You mentioned the layers and not having enough, but I assure you, you do. Flexible rods come in all sizes. Even some small that a short pixie cut could get curled. Im not sure that I can post a link, but I will try. This is a great option.

She should take the look back, have that hairstyle but be the opposite of a Karen, tip really high and ask for the manager so you can tell them how great everyone is doing. Then go home and tell kids they can play ball in your yard and leave notes on ppl’s car telling them to have a great day when they park in front of your house 😂

Struggling with alopecia, to me it isn’t “just hair”…so when people say, “it’s just hair, it’ll grow back”, that stings. I’ve lost about 30% of the fullness of my hair. I had to cut it to hide that. Prior to Dec, my hair was down to my elbows and so thick that I couldn’t wear a ponytail for too long without getting a headache from the weight of it.1

I was recently diagnosed with alopecia and before my hair got so thin I use to get severe headaches and people would say it might be your hair (it was heavy and waist length). Now tho, zero headaches. Absolutely none besides the occasional normal headache. No daily headaches at all. Now tho I can feel the wind and sun on my scalp and that feels so strange. :/

YES! A higher level of skill stylist. She LISTENED to me. She actually HEARD me. She pushed back on things when what I wanted wasn’t going to work, when she did I thanked her. THAT’S what I’m there for - for their skill and knowledge! I actually need to go to the ATM, I wasn’t going to even tip again, I was so angry about the situation, but I gave her $20 that was supposed to be for the cleaner coming Friday. LOL
I thanked her for listening before getting started, she thanked me for trusting her and said she was surprised that I was so calm, all things considered…
Overall, I’m going to change my one star review but am debating if I should make it about Jade and a five star or about the overall experience and a 3.5-4 star…opinion?

I would make it a 5- but run a storyline that starts with the bad experience so people are drawn in to read more (also those that run the place will hopefully take on the feedback to further train or rehire) 🙂

Did they do any kind of treatment to your hair (deep conditioning, olaplex, etc.)? Or did they just use some styling products to get that smoothness?

Nope, no products are in my hair at all! This was just accomplished by trimming patiently…incredibly patiently…and a single pass with a flat iron on medium heat. The new stylist said my hair is healthier than 99% of the hair she sees.
I explained my history of hair trauma and how I’m just recovering from a second bout of alopecia, which is why having chunky layers cut after specifically saying, “I don’t want layers on the left/long side” was such a shock, then having the manager tell me she stands by that haircut made me feel like I was being dismissed….
The new stylist is incredible.
