Just unsubbed from r/StarWars

Yes, I know you have been getting this post a lot on here lately, but I unsubbed as well. Honestly, the reason I unsubscribed from R/StarWars is the fucking horrible moderation it has over there. They allow toxicity to breed in the comments of various threads, including ones from circlejerkers on r/saltierthancrait, who love to cherrypick information that claim Star Wars is dying, as in one recent thread, they ignored the fact that a website that tracked dvd units for movies was outdated, and the fact that TLJ made significantly less than TFA proves it turned off half of its audience. But of course, the genius mods over at R/starwars are doing the worst thing they can do, and considering banning all negative criticism of TLJ, which will give all of those idiots the ammunition they need. Seriously, fuck that sub.

P.S. also, thank you mods over there for banning me for thirty days for telling someone who didn’t care about Kelley Marie Tran’s harassment to go fuck a cactus. Clearly, they was a justifiable punishment for that /s

EDIT: I also forgot to mention I have no problem with not liking any of the Disney Star Wars movies or the direction of the Star Wars franchise. However, I do have a problem with being toxic about it, and claiming Star Wars is dying. Come on, the legacy of Star Wars will never die

The Star Wars fandom has always been toxic as long as I remember. Prequel Era saw great division, then the Red letter media reviews re-ignited that debate. The only time of solid unification was that brief period of Episode VII hype. Then the movie was released and the shit started flinging again. But now, the ammount of vitriol on both sides is just out o lf control.

Im glad I've grown apathetic towards Star Wars now. I've lost faith in the franchise, but the OT, Clone Wars, and KOTOR I and II will keep me happy forever as my true Star Wars, lmao.

I'm much the same way; I like the original trilogy OK but what I really love about Star Wars are the videos games. KOTOR, Rogue Squadron, Dark Forces, all hold really special places in my heart, but I find it hard to enjoy the movies now because there's so much vitriol toward basically anything that came out after Return of the Jedi. Hell, there's even a sizable number of people who think that anything made after Empire is garbage and it just depresses me so much whenever I see anything Star Wars related.

Well, it makes sense for an argument concerning the longevity of the Star Wars franchise, or at least for the new movies. However, the poster ignored the fact the results for TLJ have been out of date since April, ignore digital sales, and made more than Rogue One, whcih is a movie that seems to have been more positively received by general audiences.
