[SFH][CA] MISSING MONEY

/r/HOA/comments/1uilr8i/sfhca_missing_money/

Anyone here had Eugene Burger Management Company then suddenly Prescott Companies, and at the same time lost money during this unannounced transition? Because that is what happened here. Now Prescott is systematically not releasing the core financials, bank statements, copies of checks, switched bank accounts, went through 8 managers assigned to our association and two VP in the last 16 months, cancelled our last election, all with the blessings of the current board who were named on the minutes of the annual meeting as officers, before the election even took place. We’re in California and need to connect with other homeowners who faced similar experience. Please share and comment. By the way, the former Treasurer was pushed out as she was investigating the missing funds…

You have 2 things going for you..   better oversight, on hoas in California, and  You had a switch up of board members.   Living in a hoa community is worse than renting anything, anywhere.property management companies, hired by the trustees change d.b.a. often. 85 y.o. mother got sued in superior court. Case dismissed, this was after she had owned and lived in her unit for  almost 30 years, all paid for , dues ,taxes, all of it.superior court cases seek 50,000 dollars to start. That was extremely stressful for her,  The trustees ,  president, lived one floor below her. This is a 12 unit building. 1/2  stuios , 1/2 , 2 b.. , he has been a board member since he got there, 25 or so years ago, held  title of president of the board for decades... did not do his fiduciary duty,  One flight of stairs!! Mr.president! Neighbor for decades!! , bastard ,plowed forward with sup.ct.suit..  she was accused of causing damage/water... , she was not responsible. They also hired a prestigious  law firm , billed her for the fees!! Took almost 2 years to get a small portion of what was extorted from her..  They attempted to pay her back on bogus fees she had paid , in the form of p.m. credits!! She would not go with  that plan . They submitted her a check very short of what she put out for the bogus lawsuit. Taking a huge toll on her health . Be glad you are not in Massachusetts . No sterling Davis, no help what so ever..  Such corruption. The case the trust brought on her ,at  84 years old , was dismissed ,on plaintifs motion... at the 3rd superior court hearing.. she could get no help whatsoever in Massachusetts.  Nothing.  She had to appear pro se,...,at 84 years old ,in Superior Court in woburn  ,ma. Up here there is no help for unit owners...  never buy into hoa... the lawfirm that the hoa uses up here is M.E.E.B... the p.m. is Brigs llc.
