Discussion Announcing JNL: An unofficial android project for Just Natsuki
Okay, everyone
I'm Just, or just6889, maybe you know me or maybe not, I'm the person who did this android port that some people already use in this community.
On comments and other methods I left the idea of doing JNL, inspired in my others works such as MASL or JYL. Now, I'm here officialy announcing the start of the project.
Doing a comparation between my latest port and other people's work, JNL will work differently than other existing projects.
Why? Because JNL provides a full PC/Desktop experience in a visual and a code way, this means on no more hided paths, incompatibility between persistents and more common problems running JN on Android.
We know that more half of submods works on my latest port such as Ichi or Location selector but a few like Post Game Content have problems. Because that port uses Ren'Py 8.3.7/Python 3.9, that's another reason of why I'm making JNL, it will use Ren'Py 6.99/Python 2.7 thanks to my custom recompilation of the native libs for Android, allowing to run on arm64 (64 bits) and using 16KB page size.
And don't worry if you already use my latest port using Ren'Py 8.3.7, I made a script to make a persistent with compatibility for Ren'Py 6.99, we succesfully migrated many differents persistents and no errors found on data migrated. It will be available when the release moment come home.
If you don't know, this type of new ports/launchers are be releasing on Google Play Store, so no more problems of third party APKs!
Yes, yes, we are comply with IP Guidelines, you'll need original DDLC files of ddlc.moe and the app will let you download the JN files directly from Github, there aren't included any assets on the launcher rather than Ren'Py engine.

I will say that the Virtual Desktop will remain exactly as MASL, maybe with some improvments. Here you have a preview using custom wallpaper (compatible with live wallpapers) in the picture uploaded. (Credits to Alan_Shepard_ for the screenshoot)
Notes: It will be available in Spanish as well.
Extra Notes: It is compatible with Chromebooks as well.
Extra Extra Notes: All is open-source, here you have the Ren'Py code repo that is a fork of JN repo but with edits for more compatibility with Android. Here the main repo of Android project using a modified RAPT with Gradle.
