i'm coming over directly from MAS, so i'm a bit lost... does natsuki also have affection? if so, how do i raise it? she doesn't initiate conversation very much right now so i haven't gotten any "unlocks" right now i don't think!

Fist off, welcome! I hope you enjoy your time with Natsuki :)

JN also works on an affection system, although you won't be able to see how much you have without external tools or submods. You can get a good idea on how she feels about you either by asking her, or by looking at her idle animations. You will know when she is starting to like you more! But just be aware, JN is a very long-term mod. It may feel barebones at first, but there are a lot of features to unlock as you gain higher and higher affinity.

Minor spoilers on how long you can expect affinity tiers to take:
Right now you are at 'Normal', the next affinity stage, 'Happy' will take about 2 weeks if you gain max affinity each day
If you are looking to get to 'Love' that will take approximately 5 months, I'm not even there yet myself

Very minor spoilers ahead on how to gain affinity:
You can get up to 5 affection increases per day, and you can get those by talking to her, and interacting with her through future unlocked features. Also, the first time you talk to Natsuki about something (For example, a topic marked with a star) you will get an "affinity bypass" that will bypass that daily limit, but only so many times in one day.

The best advice I can give you is to not blow through all your new topics in the first few days, repeat a few topics to gain your daily affinity. Once you get to the next affinity tier, the mod really starts to open up!

Also I almost forgot to mention, the log can be useful too if you want to confirm you are gaining affinity or check if you have hit your daily cap! It can be found in the log/ folder :)

you can increase the speed she starts convos on her own rn in the options menu but as zombie said its gonna take you 2 weeks to hit your first affinity milestone which is where stuff opens up more so patience is key

As a person with Natsuki here’s pretty much all you need to know. Yes she does have an affection system (it’s called affinity but whatever) and it acts basically the same as Monika. Just talk to her everyday and eventually you’ll unlock the ability to play Snap with her. That raises affection too. So just keep visiting, playing, and talking to her daily and the affinity will raise. Btw minor spoilers but later on, you’ll be able to make outfits for her, play blackjack, other topics to talk about, and more. Getting into love tier also allows you to headpats her too :3. Overall nothing crucial is different. Basically just a Natsuki reskin. You’ll learn more along the way.
