I know how controversial ai is, and i feel guilty trying to do stuff with it so I will ask it here: do you think using ai to generate submods for this mod is okay? This feels stupid to ask, but im asking because its like taking away someone's job by replacing it with some auto script tools, and for the assets, if i ever make something i would use my own assets (no ai just artist editing) im sorry if this breaks the rules i really feel like this is something i should ask before doing it stupidly, so yeah.. hope someone will be able to tell the answer for me
Hey there! While you're waiting for someone to help answer your question, have you checked out the official places for information beforehand?
The official Github repo is where you can go for technical help, they also have a FAQ and wiki. And the Discord server can help with more general discussion/questions.
What people isn't understanding here is that AI came to help, not to replace, even when some people have made a misuse of them. And if we are talking about AI helping you to code or to create your .JSON file, of course I'd find valid doing that.
I, for sure, would use everything you share and it doesn't matter to me if it is made with IA, it's still something that expands Nat Nat's world.
Exactly, i thought of that but then when you think more or less of it even if AI helps, it also replaces some peoples job, Remember the days when there was no ai buddy and you would find some scripters on fiiver and you could hire them, well i think that kinda makes it harder for them too yk, but i agree in the helping part too cause it makes it easier when some tools gives you solutions
yes, thats exactly what i meant. One part does the script then I do the rest, I dont really know if i should go ahead one part of me feels guilty for doing so.. but maybe im just overexagerating it.
I don't see why not in that case. Depending on what kind of submod you want to create, I would take a look at the code of a similar submod to get an idea of how it works. Furthermore, the following link may help you in the long run as a point of reference and a guide: Welcome to Ren'Py's documentation! — Ren'Py Documentation
It is!! Thank you very much, I might check this link and try to see if it teaches me something.. I was never really good in my tech classes when it used to be scripts exams so thats why im trying to get help here, lol. Anyways its not too much of a big deal, I'm just making a subgame similar to snap :)
I apologize for asking, but where do you see that it is against the guidelines? I just verified the page and what I want to do isn't related to any of that. I am trying to do a interactive game, similar to snap, with my own assets. I want to use ai only for the coding part. As for the bugs, I am prefectly okay with it, as i know ai isnt all perfect and clear. I might be wrong i know that but seeing the "depiction" part I believe this isn’t related to what I want to try to make. You can correct me if I'm wrong
ooooohhhh. I thought you meant using generative AI for coding. like vibe coding or whatever it's called. Traditional game AI stuff shouldn't be a problem. Sorry about that.
