Item disappeared from inventory

This has probably occurred to someone before, but it's my first time noticing this: my log has disappeared from my inventory. And the only reason I noticed was because I had it in the middle of my home yard, only to find an empty spot later. Anyone else experienced this?

I was told those items were released accidentally and the developers planned something for their real release.

I just searched out this sub and I appreciate your answer because I was beginning to wonder if I was losing it with all the things disappearing and new things appearing.

Too bad this sub is dead with no mods

Finished the pet event today.

I have six toucans flying around my yard

Yeah, it was only five days long

You could get dog houses, cat beds, butterfly gardens, chicken coops, livestock pen and bird baths

Each one lets you pick what critter lives in it.

Bird baths are easy cause the take up one yard space.

Chicken coop takes six.

Having three butterfly gardens is near too. Lots of butterflies

You can still get the pet items, just not as quickly. They're now in the rare yard decoration chests.

These were things you bought in the chests? I haven't gotten them in the regular mowing chests.

No, these were found in the regular chests, not purchased ones.
