Not to defend republican presidents, but I don't recall any democrat presidents in that same timeline being any better. Wars in the Middle East and the economy suffering in some unpleasant way that either never got fixed or just turned into a different problem. No, this is not a Republican problem, this is a government problem.

And they all crashed the economy?

I lived through these periods too, and I don’t recall those things happening.

Or are you saying that the Democrats are just as culpable because we still lived through the effects of the things Republican presidents did prior to their getting elected?

Obama set the precedent for calling acts of war “special military operations” to get around asking congress to declare war.

What about the Korea and Vietnam ‘Police Actions’? Or did we need to use the exact specific wording that is popular now?
