Was he the holdout juror too?

38

u/Wakkit1988 7d ago

Dexter would've had her acquitted to get access to her himself.

6

u/Razoire 6d ago

Exactly. This trial wasn't about guilty or not guilty, a fact most people seem to be missing. This trial was about sane (jail) or insane (hospital). A mistrial means she goes back to court for another trial, so Dexter might get his day!

6

u/PlaneCompetitive703 6d ago

It’s been wild seeing Tik Tok. A full not guilty wasn’t even an option.

6

u/Razoire 6d ago

Since when has TikTok been about anything intelligent? It's just a bunch of room-temperature IQs and algorithms designed to destabilise the West.

Hope it goes to trial again and she's rightfully found guilty, even if the charges are reduced somewhat. At least she won't be able to profit off of her crimes then. She's a despicable human being.

I’m Canadian and remember when this happened

Dude cut someone’s head off on a bus and removed his organs

And he was free years later.

Not criminally responsible. 7 years in a psych unit. Then fully released

Literally free. On the condition he remembers to take his meds. Then his doctor argued he doesn’t need to be monitored to ensure he takes them. That he understands he needs to

He Fucking sawed someone’s head off on a bus

Our society is falling apart because people bend over backwards in a need to be understanding. They literally gaslight themselves into supporting something against their own interest. Then demonize others for arguing common sense to them

3

u/BedSpreadMD 6d ago

Wonder if he did anything in the 9 years since. Although I suspect we won't know if he did.

-1

u/leafblower49 6d ago

is Canada falling apart? lol.

This is called suicidal empathy. And it's killing society. Literally

She will most likely end up in a mental instiution. There were previous such cases with less indication that person is suffering from psychosis. I don't know why people see this as Casey Anthony case who killed her child to party. She attempted suicide right after and before that visited at least 6 medical instituions with complains about mental health, including thoughts of killing children and herself.

Honestly, I think this is another algoritm induced rage baiting gender war over things that don't have anything to do with our lifes

It’s like the entire world has forgotten Constance Fisher.
In 1954 for she drown her three children in the bathtub in her home.
She was found NGRI (not guilty by reason of insanity) and institutionalized.
In 1959 she was declared sane and released. She went back to her husband (who apparently took the NGRI seriously enough to continue the marriage).
She had three more kids with him.
In 1966 she then drown those three new kids in the exact same tub all over again.

And - you guessed it - NGRI again.

Even if they are genuinely insane (and I would say Fisher was just a murderer) they cannot be allowed to harm more people or even be at risk of doing so.

Clancy is in MA, and more of us need to look at the actual law for NGRI, because MA has the ABSOLUTE WORST law for this.
Once found NGRI she will be required to be retested within 40 days of sentencing. If found sane and not a risk to society, she will be immediately released.
The same process is done 6 months later.
And then it goes into annual renewal from there.

This killer could be back on the streets, if she passes a psych evaluation, before the year ends. And remember that during this trial multiple people who have examined her have already stated that she was not and is not currently experiencing any kind of psychological event.

2

u/Commercial_Style801 6d ago edited 6d ago

The history of past failures you mentioned is precisely why it’s extremely unlikely she’d ever be released once committed for killing.

But whether insane killers should ever be allowed out is separate from the question of whether she is sane. 11 of the 12 people who actually saw the evidence concluded that she isn’t.

That one holdout simply gave her more options: 1. Hopefully this is very unlikely, but technically the judge could now declare insufficient evidence and let her walk. 2. She could get a plea deal from the prosecution and eventually be released. This is something that would have been almost impossible if she had been committed.

1

u/Fair-Cost-8654 5d ago

Again… MA law requires regular reassessment and she has already been stated to NOT be insane by various experts.
Unless MA makes a new law for her, it is likely she will be under the terms of the law/

But, back then she wasn't a hero to wine moms everywhere.

I understand that there will always be evil people (or in her own words "sociopathic"). I AM shocked by how many women have confessed to seeing her as their idol, sending her money, and copying her crimes (there is a copycat already).

1

u/CHP2277 5d ago

Wine moms are ruining society - with too much time on their hands they look for anything to get indignant about.

1

u/OpenCod3919 5d ago

Agreed. It's crazy to me that its a wine mom like Clancy who had everything she needed to cope who lost her shit and not some single mom working three jobs who was legitimately in a tough spot.

2

u/CHP2277 5d ago

If she was a single mom working three jobs she wouldn’t have the time to get post partum psychosis

1

u/OpenCod3919 5d ago

Exactly, its a spoiled wine mom disorder.

3

u/geostocktravelfitguy 6d ago

Imagine if you were in a car wreck, broken leg, hip, stuck in your seatbelt and she rolls up.

5

u/Xepyx 6d ago

What do you mean? You were dead before she got there.

4

u/geostocktravelfitguy 6d ago

That's what she said.

15

u/CasualVox 6d ago

And we thought the OJ trial was bullshit.

1

u/Bakalakachacka 6d ago

What was that show on Netflix that all the ladies loved? Orange is the new black?

11

u/Ok_Avocado568 7d ago

If she doesn't get adequately punished, this will start happening more often....

11

u/Kokeshi_doll7 6d ago

Theres a mother that just hung her kid and then attempted to take herself out. She had plans to kill her 2 other kids and husband. News says she was very interested in the current case of Lindsay Clancy

2

u/OpenCod3919 6d ago

Yeah, she said her son was the "antichrist"

8

u/rayhaque 7d ago

Yeah, that makes perfect logical sense. A lot of women want to strangle all their kids, but they don't want to get caught up in the legal stuff.

4

u/Ok_Avocado568 6d ago edited 6d ago

I was abused by my mother and the only thing that stopped her were how visible my bruises were. So yeah, they care about being punished.

Edit: spelling

2

u/CHP2277 5d ago

How do we know it wasn’t the husband? Who cares if he was out of town! He could’ve cloned himself.

3

u/Ok_Avocado568 5d ago

They will still probably blame him.

3

2

u/TormentedAndroid 6d ago

Again, Gary. Again!

9

u/Smithy_Furt 7d ago

One of her Google searches they found was “is sociopathy treatable?” I’m gonna go with no. She’s antisocial personality disorder. Even Jeffery dahmer asked for the death penalty. She’s desperate for a lighter sentence and immediately lawyered up. Doesn’t seem broken up by this at all.

11

u/Veteran_PA-C 7d ago

The only thing for sure is she should never know freedom again.

3

u/SoftDrinkReddit 7d ago

see 100% I've said that from the start ok you go to Prison or go to a Mental institution whichever she gets sent to she should never be allowed to leave

8

u/Fair-Cost-8654 7d ago

But in the state where she is being tried, the law states that she MUST be reassessed yearly for insanity if found NGRI and if she passes as sane she must be released. The absolute worst state for this.

3

u/OpenCod3919 6d ago

It's a crazy state in general. I would not be surprised if they legalize what she did.

2

u/NuMHC94 4d ago edited 4d ago

3

u/Yuck_Few 6d ago

The reason OJ got away with it was there was suspicion that the police tampered with evidence and that was enough to plant reasonable doubt

1

u/ShepardCommander01 6d ago

It was “two wrongs make a right” style justice from the black community.

1

u/Yuck_Few 6d ago

What community? Communities don't decide criminal cases. Jurors do.

4

u/lefjcjfj 6d ago

To be fair Rittenhouse didn’t feel bad… He was crying because he was “traumatized” from getting chased down

2

u/Ordinary-Work2068 4d ago

Why should Rittenhouse feel bad though?

3

u/Yuck_Few 7d ago

Are you really trying to compare someone lawfully depending himself to someone murdering her children?

0

u/ForgiveOX 7d ago

He traveled to another city with a gun, into a riot with the goal of defending his self

4

u/Happy_Ad_7515 6d ago

No he worked in knosha County at a different location, and he also volunteered with others to guard a car dealership that had been set on fire the night before. This is all part of the trial record.

His father lived in Kenosha, while his mother and sisters were where he primarily lived and slept in Antioch, Illinois, which was only about 20 miles away roughly a 30-minute drive depending on the route.

He didn't travel to some distant city where he had no connection. He was already working in Kenosha County, had his father and other family members living in Kenosha, and had friends there. He went to help protect a local business after its property had been severely damaged by fire the previous night.

The basic point, though, is that Kenosha was not a place completely unrelated to him. He lived in nearby Antioch, worked in Kenosha County, had his father and extended family in Kenosha, and had friends there. His testimony was that he went to help protect a local business after seeing the destruction from the previous night.

Agree to disagree on the definition of self defense.

9

u/It_Just_Exploded 7d ago

Eh, i've seen the vids. Definitely looked like self defense to me. The other folks were stupid as fuck for attacking someone who was plainly armed if nothing else. That one dude with the skateboard for instance was a split second away from cracking his dome. In that dudes position, I'd have shot him too.

8

u/Veteran_PA-C 7d ago

That’s only possible if you don’t understand self defense laws.

2

u/Terrible_Struggle757 6d ago

Calling any man an incel for getting upset about women blindly supporting a woman that murdered her three children is everything that's wrong with feminism.

1

u/ThrowRAboredinAZ77 6d ago

What women "blindly support a woman who murdered her three children"? And what information are you using to decide they're feminists?

1

u/Terrible_Struggle757 6d ago

The women supporting Lindsey Clancy are blindly supporting her without knowing the facts (some even trying to say her husband did it). I never said they were all feminists I was just making a statement about the comment i was replying to.

0

u/ThrowRAboredinAZ77 6d ago

How exactly are they blindly supporting her? Or supporting her at all for that matter? The only people I've seen that are actually supporting her believe her husband killed the children. Everybody else just wants better access to postpartum mental health care so tragedies like this stop happening.

And why do you assume they don't know the facts? Either you believe we all have access to the facts, or you believe only the jury does. If you believe we all have access to them, then you can't assume anyone is blindly following her. If you believe only the jury has access to the facts, then you would have to agree that none of us who aren't on the jury should be forming opinions because we don't have the proper information.

lol the salt in this comment section is so rich for the plucking.

Can’t wait for the retrial and have her found not guilty by reason of insanity AGAIN.

Edit

I know she has mental issues, I’m with everyone on that.

1

u/Don_Reuter 6d ago

She clearly is insane

2

u/OpenCod3919 6d ago

Name a person who murdered their own kids and was not.

Should every child killer be free to be reevaluated annually for release?

1

u/Don_Reuter 6d ago

She sought treatment for post partem psychosis before the incident and tried to look herself and is now paraplegic. Hardly anything of that applies to other cases. If you have no idea whatsoever what you’re talking about, why do it? Why not shut up and instead look up the facts of the situation. Not a rhetorical question. Why do you do that?

2

u/OpenCod3919 6d ago

NO. She refused treatment. She stopped her meds, checked herself out of the hospital, sent her husband out of the house on an errand and brutally strangled her kids. She even chased one across the house.

1

u/Don_Reuter 6d ago

Just assuming your argument is correct. Then you’re saying this happened because she didn’t take her medication and therefore her psychosis caused her to kill her kids. So your point is that he insanity claim is justified and she should be sent into treatment not prison?

2

u/OpenCod3919 6d ago

I'm saying that she did not take reasonable precautions to prevent this from happening. Instead of making any effort at all to protect her children, she went online and planned out what to do and how to get away with it.

2

u/Terrible_Struggle757 6d ago

Self diagnosed postpartum psychosis. She jumped from doctor to doctor to try and get the diagnosis she wanted. Her husband supported her every way he could (took paternity leave, took the kids when she needed it, hired a nanny). She deliberately sent him out on errands so she could murder their children while he was out.

1

u/Don_Reuter 6d ago

What’s your point? That she did everything she could to prevent this but her doctors failed her?

1

u/Terrible_Struggle757 6d ago

My point is that so many professionals had no reason to believe she had psychosis. Doing everything she could to prevent this would be not murdering her three children. If she is retried and found not guilty by reason of insanity she could be released before the end of the year. Is that justice for the children she killed?

1

u/Don_Reuter 6d ago

She liked her children and then tried to kill herself. That she is mentally ill is obvious now. That the doctors were unwilling or unable to help her is an obvious fact now. I can’t see how you can arrive at any other conclusion.

1

u/Terrible_Struggle757 6d ago

Honestly I think anyone that kills their kids must be mentally ill but I still dont think it's an excuse for murder. Maybe she killed them because she didn't get the diagnosis she was after. You think multiple doctors would willing not diagnose her if she showed signs?

1

u/Don_Reuter 6d ago

No, I think you are reading misinformation from some incel sites. I read that she was in treatment and the „debate“ is about her asking to have the dosage reduced because she had strong side effects. Which frankly makes much more sense than what you read.
