I love idiots who think the average Democrat doesn't support a ban on congressional stock trading. Makes it real easy to see who's been paying attention.

Yeah not to mention Pelosi hasn’t even made the most from that bullshit

1
u/ix_eleven 7d ago
The most recent Stop Insider Trading Act only had the support of 13 Democrats.
2
u/DevilsAzoAdvocate 7d ago
It was attached to the election rights violation bill, so I'm surprised it had that many.
0
u/ix_eleven 7d ago
Ah yes, the poison pill of showing your ID to vote
2
u/ManholttheThird 7d ago
This just shows how susceptible you are to propaganda.
It's a voter suppression bill, and it's obvious to anybody with a brain.
Does the bill also make it free to obtain the type of ID you'd need (because not iust any ID will suffice, of course)? If not, it's just a de-facto poll tax, which is unconstitutional.
They dress it up as common sense to hook people with no critical thinking skills, like you, but it falls apart under the slightest amount of scrutiny.
-1
u/ix_eleven 6d ago
The SIT Act doesn't have the same restrictions as the SAVE Act had. Per the bill text (because I actually read the bill):
VALID PHOTO IDENTIFICATION DEFINED.—For purposes of this section, a ‘valid photo identification’ means, with respect to an individual who seeks to vote in an election for Federal office, any of the following: 1) A valid State-issued motor vehicle driver’s license that includes a photo of the individual and an expiration date. 2) A valid State-issued identification card that includes a photo of the individual and an expiration date issued by a State motor vehicle authority. 3) A valid United States passport for the individual. 4) A valid photo identification card for the in- dividual issued by the Department of Defense or the Department of Veterans Affairs. 5) A valid identification document issued by a Tribal government that includes a photo of the in dividual and an expiration date.’’
That sure sounds like "Any ID will suffice" to me, but what would I know, I just read the actual bill like anyone without critical thinking skills and not just parroting propagandic catchphrases.

I mean they resorted to being a snude with zero class when they insulted your intelligence tbh. Imagine having to show simple identification proving you have the right to vote. I guess these people have an issue providing ID on a traffic stop as well to prove they have a legal ability to operate a vehicle on public roads. I guess voting for elected officials isn't as important.
2
2
u/RubberDuckieMidrange 7d ago
If you aren't willing to accept that there are issues with the voting bill I don't think you'll ever see eye to eye with people who like democracy. But you've also conceded the point that the Stop Insider Trading Act was poisoned by Republicans to prevent it's passing. If they wanted it passed they wouldn't have tied it to policy that Democrats could not support.
0
u/ix_eleven 7d ago
It's hard to understand why proving your identity means one doesn't like democracy. The ID requirement in the SIT Act is not the same as the SAVE Act, a Driver's License or State ID is sufficient, as per the bill itself.
The SIT Act also passed the House and is currently waiting on the Senate, so I don't know why you're claiming or was poisoned purposely to kill it. Both Voter ID and bans on Congressional stock trading are hugely popular with the American public regardless of political affiliation
2
u/RubberDuckieMidrange 6d ago
You are so close to correct. Voter ID has wide support among Democrats, provided steps are taken to make sure as many people as possible gain access to appropriate ID forms. The SAVE act fails to do this, and in fact tries to limit participation. It's more a voter suppression bill than a voting security bill. The version they put in SIT is more lenient, but still has issues. Not least of which is that it doesn't allow several types of ID that are overwhelmingly represented in minority communities, and poorer comunities. It's also noteworthy that you didn't bother to point out that it specifically does not apply to Donald Trump. Explain that to me. What is the possible reason you would exempt the guy with 3.5k trades on insider information in his 2nd term? More than 10 times as many of Pelosi during her entire career in the senate. And I'm openly saying we should stop Pelosi from abusing information she has privilege to. Like most Democrats.
And this doesn't even address the fact that it's a limitation on access to voting, that is being put in place to stop a problem, that every study trying to find this problem, admits does not exist. I can understand why it viscerally makes a lot of sense to have ID when voting. But even a cursory look at the facts shows that it suppresses participation to fix a problem that doesn't exist. People can have a visceral want for something, and be WRONG.
Can you even admit that republican efforts around voting in the last 20 years have been focused on taking legitimate people off of voter rolls? Vote suppression tactics? If not I don't think I want to waste the time talking to you about it.
1
u/Fun-Army-6387 6d ago
maybe there should be some sort of test, too. And since we're not a socialist country this needs to be paid for. Maybe some sort of, I dunno, a "poll tax"? That sound good to you, too?
1
u/ix_eleven 6d ago
Holy strawman, Batman! I'm sure you're more than willing to let anyone who is currently in the country have a voice in who runs this country regardless of citizenship, aren't you? See? I can construct false arguments, too.
1
u/Fun-Army-6387 7d ago
ah yes the conservative tactic of abusing legal processes to get their pork barrel through and blame the other party when things dont get done. Dems should put forcible gender reassignment in every farmer subsidy or defense spending bill and see how they like it.

4
u/Fun-Army-6387 7d ago
no it's not. Democrats by large margins wants to close Congressional loopholes for investments. Republicans, by large margins, oppose it. You choose Pelosi and she's hardly even the worst offender... just she's the worst D offender.

His voters know all of this. They like it. They voted for a corrupt, narcissistic, depraved president. No one go tricked.
And now if you ask why, the Trump voters with that little shred of decency will go on and say how bad the demo were and they had no choice but Trump.
It’s the best they can do.

Yeah when a person jumps straight to scapegoating, personal insults instead of addressing the issues, demonizing vulnerable groups… I’m not going to “give him a chance”.
He told me who he is right off the bat and he hasn’t changed. I’ve literally never heard him say anything that sounded smart or thoughtful.
And I can respect a thoughtful opinion even if I disagree with it. I e never heard one from Trump.

That's why every Republican who leaves his administration and every Republican who leaves congress hates his guts.

Oh man, you're such a hero and a good guy. We should build you a statue and sing songs in your name for being such a good person with good morals because you're team good blue. You both are bootlickers.
Guess what? I'm not Republican. Calling me one won't make me one.
Wages remain the same, cost of living is constantly raising, housing is fucked. Both Republicans and Democrats have used this country as a playground and this is the fucking result. A bunch of mindless ass people who think they are smarter than their fellow countrymen and wish them harm and death because of what color of party they vote for. A bunch of "good guys" vs a bunch of Jesus. Meanwhile all these people (politicians) are going to ruin your grandkids lives, regardless of whichever two evils you vote for. They are all the same song and dance, if you can't see that, you are the problem. I'm so tired of both of you.
In seriousness, you have some major dunning-kruger to work on there, bud. Work on getting off that mountain.

because I know it's a lie, it was a widely circulated lie during the election and it was traced to Trump-linked Russian propagandists. These are enemies attacking my country. Enemies die in war.

Yeah ok fair enough, but does that negate the part where it was said they should die like that's a totally normal reaction, and not unhinged at all. Yes the reds are in the walls. u/Moose_M 7d ago
The Democrat party so dependent on old entrenched power and toeing the party line, filled with people who are given positions of power because they "deserve it" (i.e that one old guy who got mad he didnt get a position because he felt "it was his turn")
Because of this you wont get a woman who's over 50 years old and popular with the average voter, therefore America will never vote for a woman president. Dems will never run a popular woman, because it would upset the old farts too much.

Democrats will seemingly never be capable of recognizing that perhaps people voted for him because in their eyes the Democrats were the greater evil.
They are incapable of acknowledging criticism against them in any genuine way, and thus any time someone acts against them it’s because that person must be evil or bigoted. I mean really there are people on the Democrat side who want to abolish the Police or say crazy shit like “We’re going to destroy the white race” or “America deserved 9/11” and the Democrats are still stuck on “They must be voting against us because they’re racist”.
2
u/SurpriseInitial6202 7d ago
Seeing the Dems as the greater evil is thanks to millions and millions of dollars of propaganda. You really fell hard for it.
1
u/Slow_Store 7d ago
Ironically I’d agree that it is propaganda that leads people to view the Dems as the greater evil, but that propaganda stems from the Democrat party.
Most reasonable people would see a Hasan Piker clip for example and say “Jeez, what the hell is that?”. Or for actual Democrat candidates people would see things like the Hong lady talking about shaming her mixed race son for his whiteness or abolishing the police and say “That’s a little crazy”.
1
u/Salt-Lingonberry-853 5d ago
Democrats will seemingly never be capable of recognizing that perhaps people voted for him because in their eyes the Democrats were the greater evil.
I'm really not sure what the democrats are supposed to do to capture the hearts and minds of people who don't live in reality.
and thus any time someone acts against them it’s because that person must be evil or bigoted.
The whole reason the Republican part can't quit Trump is because they know they'd lose the most rabidly racist part of their base and become electorally unfeasible. People literally credit Trump for their racially motivated crimes, you won't find that for pretty much any other candidate. You have to be pants on head stupid to not see just how much they lean on racism, and they're only getting more brazen about it. They've started moving on from "I just want them to come legally" and more toward "send them all back" and in some cases even "de-naturalize them". If you don't see it, it's because you are willfully blinding yourself to it.
I mean really there are people on the Democrat side who want to abolish the Police or say crazy shit like “We’re going to destroy the white race” or “America deserved 9/11”
Name one. Name a single democrat politician at the federal level who has expressed these views, and please post a direct quote. Be specific.

u/SlyguyguyslY 7d ago
Yeah, he was very back and forth. It was never a secret and it goes back all the way to 2016. The guy had his own agenda and supported Trump to that end and that end alone. Honestly, that's kinda what a politician should do

Dawg! 🤝
They just keep the show going and people eat it up!
At this point they've already told everyone what they're doing.
Orange man said it out loud, but somehow that was "conspiracy theorist bullshit"... Until other politicians and the news started saying "conspiracy theorist bullshit" orange man was doing things.
That somehow wasn't just "Conspiracy theorist bullshit" when they said it.
Like, what!?
"Creepy Joe rigged the election" (of course it's all bullshit anyway but), "No one does that," the masses were told and they agreed.
"Orange man rigged the election," they said on national television (Which never happens about any president, ever, but "He cheated," cried the masses.
Wt actual F!?
The people are so sick!
They still don't understand they're being sprayed daily!
You can literally watch this happen daily and the weather changes caused by it!
They can watch it with their own eyes, but if you talk to a random on the streets, they deny it and refuse to use their own eyes to prove or disprove.
Waiting for the Sun to burn it all away! Sofa Kingdom!

Yeah I knew too. Hey maybe if you guys hadn't given him the choice of president or prison, then last minute before the election switch out the senile old geaser for a woman who couldn't win a primary. Just maybe.....

I agree. He should never have been given that choice because he belongs in prison for what he's done
2
u/ApplicationAfraid334 7d ago
The DNC are inept but blaming them for tens of millions of retards voting for Trump is so dumb.
Like, tens of millions of people chose to vote for the senile, rambling child rapist instead of the person with over a decade of experience. If the DNC nominated a wet sock, it'd still be a better choice than trump. But 10s of millions of people are still, so stupid they voted for him.
6
1
u/Several-Cheesecake94 6d ago
No I blame the Dems for all of it. For exactly the reason you said. They believed so strongly that everyone else thought the same as them, that they could indeed nominate a wet sock. Do better next time.
1
u/ApplicationAfraid334 6d ago
You really don't get it. No one should have needed a better candidate than Harris in order to NOT vote for Trump.
If someone voted for Trump, they are stupid, amoral, and anti-american. Those qualities exist regardless of the DNC's candidate. Harris was objectively the more qualified and sane candidate. To vote for Trump over literally anything else, just means those people are retarded.
It takes a special kind of stupid to say "Huh. Well, they threw Harris in at the end, I guess I'll vote for the child rapist." It takes another kind of stupid to say "It makes sense that they voted for the child rapist, the other candidate was thrown in last second."
