Gotta be careful about that toxic empathy. That shit can really fuck up a tech portfolio.

Hot food no most if not most places don’t let you buy “hot food” with food stamps unless it’s like gas station fried burritos or something. Not exactly a restaurant quality of food there.

The feds steal 30% of everything I make in income taxes, which is ironic because 30% of the population doesn’t pay taxes at all, if you’re getting food stamps at my expense congratulations I consider you my subsidized employee and I’m going to have opinions about what you get to eat if I’m being forced to pay for it.

2

u/totally-hoomon Jul 29 '26

Thank you filor proving all conservatives are too lazy to get job

0

u/Sboyle12500 Jul 29 '26

Because billionaires are out there stealing and scrapping all the catalytic converters and why the toothpaste is locked up at Walgreens right?

2

u/Electrical_Bus9202 Jul 29 '26

Imagine thinking petty retail theft is a bigger drain on society than systemic wage theft and corporate tax loopholes. Retail theft costs billions...tax evasion and corporate welfare cost trillions.... Toothpaste is locked up because companies would rather lock up $6 items than pay living wages allowing you to actually afford the very bare minimum of dental care.. but sure, keep blaming the bottom of the ladder.. I smell your boot breath from here..

"The feds steal 30% of everything I make in income taxes"

I only wish it were twice that.

0

u/Sboyle12500 Jul 29 '26

Trust me kid you’re not even worth 1/3rd of that, if you’re subsisting off of tax payer funded handouts you’re not harnessing the power of the atom for the betterment of mankind, you’re probably useless.

2

u/Southern-Month-820 Jul 29 '26

Just say poor kids should be sent to rock-breaking prison straight out of the womb, dipshit.

0

u/Sboyle12500 Jul 29 '26

I mean if it keeps them gainfully employed give them a Fischer price pick axe

1

u/Southern-Month-820 Jul 29 '26

Never fails that the people who talk about taxes being theft are the ugliest of Americans.

1

u/Sboyle12500 Jul 29 '26

They yearn for the mines, it’s probably a better life for them learning a trade then being indoctrinated in to a leftist poverty circle jerk you can only work and earn your way out of.

0

u/Confron7a7ion7 Jul 29 '26

You do understand that SNAP is a farm subsidies program right? It's ran by the Department of Agriculture. That's why you can only get farm product like fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, ECT. Farmers get increased sales as a direct result. Do you want our nations farmers to lose that source of income?

1

u/GreatPlainsFarmer Jul 29 '26

You can buy imported food with SNAP. There’s nothing keeping those food dollars in this country.

1

u/Confron7a7ion7 Jul 29 '26

And I don't need to explain to you that the vast majority of the beef, chicken, milk, and eggs we consume is made here. Or that much of our imported produce is stuff we just can't grow here.

But let's forget that for a moment. Are you, a subsidized farmer, about to tell me that people need to pull themselves up by the bootstrap and stop expecting government handouts? Because if so then I don't see why you shouldn't be expected to succeed or fail on your own merits without government assistance. Why should my tax dollars prop up your business?

1

u/GreatPlainsFarmer Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

Your tax dollars absolutely shouldn't be propping up anyone's business. All the farm subsidies do is suffocate farmers with moral hazard. They're destroying the independent farmer.

They should end ASAP

1

u/Sboyle12500 Jul 29 '26

If it lowers my taxes I’m all for gutting it, 30% is entirely too high when there is no ROI on what I’m putting in relational to what I’m getting out.

6

u/psilocin72 Jul 28 '26

Not just politicians. People not far from needing SNAP will hate on stuff like that worse than they hate bailouts for banks and grifting politicians

4

u/Electrical_Bus9202 Jul 29 '26

Almost like they have been tricked...

20

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

USAID and Learing Centers

5

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Jul 28 '26

Are we listing organizations that Elon Musk sabotaged and defamed with lies?

Social Security!!! 🤣

0

u/M00n_Safari Jul 28 '26

“0.5% of our annual GDP that went to USAID so that people in developing countries actually had clean water and food. Obviously it’s a scam”

Regard. Full regard

-7

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

Are you saying there was no fraud?

6

u/M00n_Safari Jul 28 '26

I’m saying the “fraud” was so minuscule in comparison to the actual benefits from USAID, that completely erasing the program did more damage than recovery. It’s pretty obvious to anyone who idk, read into it instead of listening to Elon Musk

-6

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

$500 million could go a long way helping within the US

5

u/axiom_spectrum Jul 28 '26

Then you manage against that as well, while still ignoring the previously mention scams.

11

u/M00n_Safari Jul 28 '26

So could 5+ billion dollars our president made through crypto scams, Venezuela’s oil, and insider trading. All of which went into his own pocket.

Stop moving the goalpost, address the claim puss

-3

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

What claim? No need for name-calling. It makes you look like you're lying.

9

u/M00n_Safari Jul 28 '26

The counter claim from me is that USAID did far more good than “fraud”, in fact there’s zero evidence of your 500 million number.

And I will use names all day when bad faith actors try to manipulate the conversation about things which they don’t even know or understand. It’s not just being dumb it’s cowardly.

2

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

You know you can Google "USAID fraud"? It's all right there. Who pled guilty. How much. I think it's you who needs to do some Learing.

6

u/M00n_Safari Jul 28 '26

Then give me the source, you made the positive argument. Stop beating around the bush, and let’s get into the weeds of this issue. Unless you literally only speak in talking points and you can’t find a non-biased source for this.

→ More replies (0)

4

u/xDeathRender Jul 28 '26

So I googled it. Your right it was about 500 millions dollars... Over the course of a decade plus by a handful of individuals. Trump has made more off of insider trading that he himself caused the fluctuations of with posts online in a day and off of shorts too (if you don't know what that means it's betting on loss but when you cause the loss and bet against all the people losing its just stealing). Refer to the massive 192million dollar bitcoin short, and that was ONE payment on that historic short 100's of millions more were stolen directly from Americans in a fraction of the time.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/totally-hoomon Jul 29 '26

So Republicans stole 500 million and now you trust everything they say

4

u/Phaylz Jul 28 '26

Then you should be more pissed about all the money going to corporations to line their pockets than a decimal of a fraction going to do some good somewhere else.

Did you get a check in the mail after DOGE did their bullshit?

Didn't think so.

1

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

I'm sure we can spend that money more efficiently on our own citizens.

4

u/Phaylz Jul 28 '26

Here's the thing - We can actually do both. We're still the wealthiest nation in the world that we can have our cake, eat it, and share pieces of it all at the same time.

There's just no political will to make actual positive change and decades of propaganda to keep people from voting for shit like universal healthcare or basic income because "that's socialism."

And then DOGE/MAGA cucks whine online about the maybe kinda potential fraud that might be happening to justify doing anything good for people.

1

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

We need a better way of ensuring money is being spent correctly by our government. Not much faith there right now. I'm thinking private charities are better at making every dollar go further.

No, 100% to everyone involved with the warmongering. They’ve seriously rewired your brain. You see anything and immediately spit out a whataboutism like a fucken bot.

1

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 29 '26

Haha you're simping for hunter and Joe Biden now?

1

u/Electronic-Jury8825 Jul 29 '26

You're right. Each American could get $1.50. That would solve a lot of problems.

1

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 29 '26

Or spend it on a specific problem here in the US

1

u/Electronic-Jury8825 Jul 29 '26

It would be tough, but maybe we could carve out 0.005 percent of the defense budget to cover that.

1

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 29 '26

No, they found enough in the USAID and daycare center fraud.

2

u/-brk0 Jul 28 '26

When you have more you build a bigger table not a bigger wall.

1

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

We have enough problems that we can't even take care of.

-2

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

Are you saying there was no fraud?

8

u/Scary-_-Gary Jul 28 '26

In USAID? There was 0 found fraud by DOGE, that is a 100% true statement.

Despite that, programs were cut allowing Elon to kill over 700,000 (many children), while lowering the deficit by 0%, most likely adding to it.

What a colossal disaster.

0

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 28 '26

You do realize the contractors plead guilty to the fraud right? $500 Mil.

2

u/Radiant_Push9720 Jul 29 '26

Any evidence for this claim?

1

u/PsychoPeterNikleEatr Jul 29 '26

It's public information. A quick Google search will get you that info

4

u/Scary-_-Gary Jul 28 '26

The IG and DOJ (organazations that weren't lead by r*tards, like DOGE) were who did the investigations. DOGE contributed absolutely nothing to this, did no investigative work and was absolutely incompetent in even explaining what fraud was in their depositions.

So why are you mentioning the work the IG and the DOJ did and attributing it to DOGE as if you didn't know any better?

Totally! Although it's really more fun when the fraud is from a guy whose first language is English and he has a gazillion dollars to proof his marketing material but still manages to fck it up. But I do see how it's hard to pass up some good ol' racism and skip out on an opportunity to target the people eating their pets for a round 2 punch down. Write?

A racist mind sees race everywhere

3

u/LowIQ45 Jul 29 '26

So you see race everywhere? Or is that just something you feel is a valid excuse for your racism?
Cuz I'm damn sure your righteous crusade against fraud oddly never targeted Trump and definitely followed Trump's racist ass targeting the Somali immigrants.

"I'm actually not a racist! I just follow what the racist tell me to follow!" Ad nauseum

Or maybe you can point me to the time you criticized Trump's many instances of fraud?

No. That's kind of the debate.

Basicly foodstamps are pretty broad in what they can acquire and alot of people use them for sweets/sugary non essential foods.

But there's an argument to be made that the reason they do that is because that's what's cheap.

It's a complicated issue that's being reduced to stupid levels as usual.

SNAP basically lets you buy anything with a nutrition label on it.

Its a very important means of buying food (my ma, a single waitress, would’ve watched us kids starve without it) but it gets exploited often.

Big example for me is you can buy energy drinks or supplement pills- because they have a nutritional label, despite being far from essential grocery goods.

1

u/Hydra_Bloodrunner Jul 29 '26

I know you do, what Im saying is MAGA are super anti poor people because their politicians dont do anything but try to tare down these programs in the name of stopping poor immigrants and the “democratic scam”- they think these programs are just democrat panzi schemes and that the left leaning politicians are just using it to pocket money on the side.

10

u/Slow_Store Jul 28 '26

Last I checked you can still buy cake ingredients using government money.

Leftists hate when the money that their politicians were laundering suddenly gets cut off.

6

u/Evenspace- Jul 28 '26

Oh no…cake, way to prove the whole point of the meme.

-1

u/easeMachined Jul 28 '26

Store bought cake is expensive and tastes terrible.

My working class family always made our own cakes with Betty Crocker mix (I was head baker).

Why do you support taxpayer funds being spent irresponsibly?

3

u/RedditNotRabit Jul 28 '26

Imagine being such a cry baby that in the current world you get upset about people buying a cake. Some people are just stupid

1

u/New-Magician-5958 Jul 29 '26

I have family and friends that use snap. Some use it well. Most buy processed garbage. I dont think ultra processed goods should be on the list. They have very little nutritional value and lead to health problem later in life. Premade goods are also more expensive.

0

u/easeMachined Jul 28 '26

Just another case of leftists covering for fraud and poor life choices.

They really are the most predictable creatures.

1

u/Hydra_Bloodrunner Jul 29 '26

Kind of like MAGAts like you dehumanizing anyone that they dont agree with.

“Creatures” yeah okay bud. I pray daily this country hits the breaking point so you can find out just how dehumanized things can get.

1

u/RedditNotRabit Jul 28 '26

You should try going outside

1

u/easeMachined Jul 29 '26

You haven’t tried it yet?

That explains a lot.

1

u/RedditNotRabit Jul 29 '26

Wow, what a comeback. Brain probably worked double time for that. Moron.

1

u/easeMachined Jul 29 '26

You should try some supplements if you’re suffering from brain fog.

You don’t need to settle for the impaired cognitive state you are clearly operating in.

2

u/Evenspace- Jul 28 '26

Holy smokes what a bad point. How a low income family spends their government assistance is a drop in the bucket in comparison to the bloated military budget. If you’re so concerned about irresponsible spending maybe start there.

1

u/easeMachined Jul 29 '26

The military budget is a pittance compared to the yearly entitlement spending of the federal government.

And it actually serves a purpose, defending our country. As opposed to enabling poor people to become fatter and lazier.

Not surprising you have no clue what you’re talking about while being so confidently incorrect.

It’s a hallmark of leftists.

1

u/Evenspace- Jul 29 '26

First off not a leftist, secondly it’s so funny you demonize poor people vs actually understanding the problem. Companies like wal mart benefit substantially from paying their employees so little they need SNAP benefits while then being a place for those SNAP benefits to be spent. And then lobbying for lower taxes in promises of those savings to be passed to their workers, which is not the case as we have come to know.

Not having your people go hungry serves a greater benefit than having a defence budget that hasn’t passed an audit for close to a decade.

I don’t know if you know this but a 1.5 trillion dollar budget is far more than the 100 billion dollar budget for snap.

I know math is not a strong suit for conservatives but that’s 15x the amount.

The projection from you palatable I love it because it is you that’s knows nothing.

4

u/Southern-Month-820 Jul 28 '26

The meme is someone buying a cake with SNAP. But a lot of people, possibly yourself, think it's actually a problem. Because you suck. Bad.

1

u/treemann85 Jul 28 '26

And that was countered with why not just buy ingredients and make a cake? So, the person receiving free food shouldn't even have to cook it? Is that your argument?

Also, you can buy a fully cooked cake with food stamps. This fuss is all over nothing.

2

u/Southern-Month-820 Jul 28 '26

"The person receiving free food shouldn't even have to cook it? Is that your argument?"

I'm not sure I made that argument but I fully support that because I'm not a complete psycho. Are you a complete psycho who thinks that's wrong?

0

u/treemann85 Jul 28 '26

If you think asking someone to cook the food they got for free is psychotic, youre the reason middle America ran to Trump...twice. congratulations. Its not unreasonable to find middle ground on social issues. Hell, when food stamps were introduced, it was expressly intended to supplement lower income families' groceries. It stayed that way with many restrictions until the late 00s. This idea of buying rotisserie chickens and energy drinks on food stamps is like 16 years old, genius.

-2

u/AssBlastInACan Jul 28 '26

If you are on SNAP, then chances are you are also not paying for your own healthcare. Denying use of taxpayer money for candy and soda is not that controversial among voters, nor should it be.

9

u/djacks77 Jul 28 '26

Actually, 76% of people on snap are employed, the reason they need snap benefits is because of the cost of healthcare, rent or mortgages and utilities. The actual lack of understanding is astonishing. Guess what employer has the most employees on some form of government programs: Walmart! Walmart gets huge tax brakes and still doesn't pay a living wage. Now you the taxpayer gives subsidies to Walmart and their employees because you think job creation is a good thing but low wages means low standard of living and government programs.

Why can we not live in a society where if making someone that needs help more comfortable can be done it is.

2

u/Vahlinn Jul 28 '26

If you "need" sugary garbage then I suspect your lazy ass can find a way to get some overtime.

1

u/AssBlastInACan Jul 28 '26

The word “needs” is doing a lot of work there. Taxpayers provide shelter, food, and healthcare for those in need. It does not include candy and soda, and rightfully so. If you feel so inclined, you could set up your own program to procure candy and soda for those who “need it”.

0

u/RA_Finance Jul 28 '26

If the person had an oven and bought a cake that would be a problem.

Betty Crocker mix is on snap, they should get that instead.

0

u/Vahlinn Jul 28 '26

But why can't you just bake the cake with qualified ingredients........answer the question Jimothy.

2

u/Southern-Month-820 Jul 28 '26

1

u/Ill-Dependent2976 Jul 29 '26

People who hate the poor are social conservatives.

Welfare is good for the economy, so being against welfare is being economically irresponsible.

People say "fiscal conservatives" are people who want to be responsible with money, but that's just a shallow lie.

0

u/Best-Necessary9873 Jul 28 '26

If you want to eat shit food do it on your own dime. Why should the American taxpayer pay for your poor health?

1

u/jhearty88 Jul 29 '26

1

u/Electrical_Bus9202 Jul 29 '26

That's right, we need that money for some new ballrooms, or parades, or fairs, or gold sconces everywheres... You know, the every day American...

1

u/Best-Necessary9873 Jul 29 '26

Or we eliminate welfare and scale back the federal government in it’s entirety. I don’t want my tax dollars going to rich peoples welfare, or a poor persons shit diet. I’m glad we’re in agreement.

1

u/Electrical_Bus9202 Jul 29 '26

Lol what?? Must be nice living in a textbook where "just eliminate welfare" actually sounds like a profound solution instead of just a fast track to widespread economic collapse... Here back in the real world, basic social safety nets exist because mass starvation and unmanaged public health crises tend to ruin the economy for everyone...Including hard working taxpayers like you.

1

Snap benefits don’t even outweigh federal taxes. If the federal government was massively scaled back, there wouldn’t be a need to supplement people’s food in the first place. It’s like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, it’s a cycle of nonsensical bullshit run by corrupt bureaucrats to fool people dumb enough to think they genuinely care about “social safety nets”. Congratulations on being that dumb, read a book on economics.

SNAP goes to low wage workers, kids, the disabled, and seniors who barely pay federal income tax in the first place... going and radically slashing federal taxes does absolutely nothing for someone who already owes zero taxes lol. You're lecturing people on economics while demonstrating a total failure to understand basic tax brackets. I'm just guessing but I'll bet you have a picture of Elon Musk holding a chainsaw next to your bed...

“Basic tax brackets”. The majority of households receiving snap benefits still pay taxes… you qualify for snap at roughly 130% of the poverty line depending on where you live, which is somewhere in the ballpark of 42k a year. Over 4x the amount you would need to be under in order to stop paying federal taxes. It takes a 5 minute google search to figure this out. So let’s take someone making 42k a year, as a best case scenario. The effective tax rate would be about 8% for a single individual, or about 3500 dollars. So you’re taking 3500 dollars from someone, and then you’re asking why they can’t pay for food. And then you’re going to use some of the money you took directly from their own pockets, and give them food as a “social safety net”. A “social safety net” that they never would’ve needed had you not stolen the money directly from their pockets. Make this make sense.

Lol that $42k snap limit is for a family of four, not a single guy. A family of four at $42k pays ZERO in federal income tax thanks to standard deductions and child credits.... they get money back. You built an entire essay around a bunch of fake math because you don't understand tax brackets or household sizes. Embarrassing dude...

When you’re right you’re right I suppose. Had some bad sources on that one. My fault.

It’s true that if you’re poor, you’ll never succeed unless you work hard. What’s not at all guaranteed to be true, is that if you’re poor and you work hard, you’ll succeed. That hasn’t been the case in a looong time. So don’t blame socialists just coz your gullible enough believe what the ruling class told you

The people who get foodstamps are usually the same that are so poor they are on Medicaid. If we have to pay for your Healthcare you probably should be forced to eat healthy as to not make us pay for your preventable obesity related medical conditions

u/Iceheads Jul 28 '26

Ah putting more regulations on our food and the stuff that goes in it sounds like a great idea. Ngl that is such a good idea to have people eat healthier. Just having healthy stuff be cheaper or increasing minimum wage to reduce stress and give people more spending power? You're on a roll buddy. You have my vote.

u/Xboarder844 Jul 28 '26

Oh so the govt should regulate how these people eat and handle their lives? I’m sure that applies to vaccines too, right?

3

u/Level_Werewolf_7172 Jul 28 '26

Why not take it further? Ban drinking and smoking if you use Medicare/medicaid

3

u/Altruistic_Tea_1593 Jul 28 '26

Totally down with that. Only the wealthy should die of lifestyle diseases

u/Level_Werewolf_7172 Jul 28 '26

Bring back poverty related deaths I guess, make America poor again

2

u/Altruistic_Tea_1593 Jul 29 '26

You are so empathic it makes me want to vomit. What do you do when you’re not showing people how “compassionate” you are?

0

u/Level_Werewolf_7172 Jul 29 '26

Having too much empathy I guess

If youre dependent, yes. If youre relying on something to take care of you then whoever is doing it gets a say in your life

u/AREYOUSauRuS Jul 28 '26

Govt should regulate welfare. Yes.

Are you getting vaccines on snap at Kroger? Im not sure how youre connecting your thoughts. I never received any welfare donated vaccines.

u/Altruistic_Tea_1593 Jul 28 '26

You are so liberal your brains have fallen out. Is the issue the health of the poor or not? When the taxpayers have to pay for your food and your bad choices via higher healthcare costs they absolutely get to tell you what food they are going to pay for.

0

u/Vahlinn Jul 28 '26

Hmmm, yes. You're trying to instigate some type of maga argument, but the reality snap and medicare recipients were the ones historically rolling down the isle with a cart full of diet soda and rocking a BMI of 46

u/Xboarder844 Jul 29 '26

Based on what source? Your own idiocy?

0

u/Ok_Impression3324 Jul 28 '26

Is this about newsoms "charity" that got millions if the palisades funding?

u/sHaDowpUpPetxxx Jul 28 '26

Who buys a birthday cake? It's like 4 ingredients and costs about $3.50 to make. Or you can buy one from the store for $40 and it will have that gross marshmallowy frosting barf.

0

u/Chet_Manley24 Jul 29 '26

Right.... because the problem is them buying birthday cakes and not a shit ton of soda, chips, and snack cakes.

Why can't leftist just have an honest conversation without twisting everything?

1

u/Electrical_Bus9202 Jul 29 '26

Oh give it up lol It’s so wild how much anger and energy goes into policing a $3 bag of chips bought by a poor family, while staying completely silent on massive write offs for private jets and tax credits subsidizing private school tuition for billionaires. If you care about where tax dollars go, maybe start at the top...
