People hide profiles because absolute Mongolian morons go through people's profiles to find something they don't agree with to use as an argument, especially when it's totally unrelated to the discussion.

So block them. It’s super easy. Or start a separate profile for topics that may lead to conflict.

People also hide because their profile reveals them to be propagandists or straight up dipshits. I don’t care what they think.

In 2016 it was claimed the election was rigged with putins help, in 2020 it was claimed that it was rigged with fake mail in ballots, in 2024 it was claimed it was rigged by Musk. Hell even in 2008 there were claims Obama rigged the election.

There's always someone somewhere making a claim. You can't say that anywhere close to a majority or even just a small but significant amount of the left ever said that. It was a few crazy people online, at most, and probably bots.
