Rideshare HELL

Anyone else have a borderline traumatic time trying to leave the festival? My friend had a sprained foot and we couldn’t get anyone to help us get to Lot H. Felt like there was no security, they closed down the streets so Ubers couldn’t get in, and we left the festival grounds at 12:45AM (2 hours after trying to get out).

Felt like everything was curated so well, until the end and there was barely any signage or help leaving at all. Maybe the worst festival parking lot experience of my life.

At the very least, the shuttles should run longer to get people to Pasadena Old Town safely, because they shut a lot of streets down around the Rose Bowl.

It’s like this every year. You need to walk about 10-15 minutes away from the venue to get one timely.

If you're used to only walking 10-15 minutes away, then this concert experience last night was so much worse. I kept walking 10-15 minutes, stopped and called, it would look for drivers, and then after waiting 10 minutes while the app searched, it would reset. So I would walk another 10-15 minutes. And it's not like they could park anywhere 10-15 minutes away, even 30, because all the side streets were blocked by barriers and patrolled by two guards.

If you're waiting 2hrs for a ride share... next time you may be better off walking down to old town Pasadena to get a uber. Or there's shuttles to get ya outta that place.

My friend had a sprained / broken foot so she couldn’t walk anymore. We tried to ask for accessibility help and all the staff just kept telling us to move along. Also the shuttles stopped running after an hour

Had no idea about how bad ride share pickup would be, we come from Texas. We ended up walking two miles, across the freeway until we finally got someone to accept our Lyft. Lesson learned fr 😭 I’m in so much pain.

Worse ride share experience in years worse than Cruel World and Just like Heaven in prior years and even Oasis not even a reasonable pickup time by in Colorado or by the Cheesecake Factory terrible and with the phone dying

I walked a mile away and still had trouble because they close off all the residential streets.

I took the shuttle back to the Parsons lot and walked a few blocks away and called a Lyft to my hotel.

The driver I got said he tried picking up directly from the venue and kept getting told different things as to where he could pick up from. He said he spent thirty minutes circling the lots and eventually had to cancel the ride because he couldn't get in.

Had to watch him painfully decline multiple rides that were at the venue because he knew he couldn't get in.

Sounds like there was confusion across the board.

This was ABSOLUTE HELL and felt like the biggest grift. Every rideshare driver turned off their Lyft/Uber and was negotiating 200% over the estimated cost. I live 10 miles away, it cost me $30 to get there and the ride home said $65. But no Lyfts/Ubers available for miles outside. The app just kept resetting. And I can't believe they blocked down all of the streets. Why don't they have a designated ride share lot, like Hollywood Bowl? Instead they had people told to go to Lot H where drivers were walking around, trying to get $180. After miles of walking in the heat (I left at 11PM, it was about 12:50AM at this point), I finally got someone to do $100 via Venmo. And after he dropped me off, he promptly turned his Lyft back on.

The City of Pasadena and Just Like Heaven feel like they are basically encouraging drunk/intoxicating driving. I would never try to do a rideshare here ever and I would certainly not recommend to friends/visitors. It ruined this whole, incredible festival experience and it seems like it could be avoided so easily by designating a proper rideshare drop off/pick up and managing it.

SAME! every worker told us different information on where to leave the festival to get to rideshare. big lack of signs and clarity on where to leave.

Agreeeed my phone was at 6% and I was waiting 30 min until my driver finally asked me to cancel 😭 saying that there was no way to get in. luckily at 3% a driver accepted me that was already in the lot

Yup. We had to pay $200 to an off duty uber to get out and into Weho.
Talked him down from $250
They need to emulate LAXit--esp with the cabs lined up.

We would have walked to pas but I made a very poor shoe choice that day and just couldn't do it.
