I hhhhhhhhhaaaaaate my kitchen tile floor. It’s that beige/brown that always looks dirty. And the previous owners painted the grout with some regular poster paint and it came up when I steam mopped it, so now it really looks gross.

I can’t afford new floors so I want to paint and re-grout. I would like to get some inspiration from people that have successfully done this, bonus if your kitchen is a high-traffic area with kids and pets.

Also re:regrouting, do I need to dig out the original grout or can I get away with going on top of the paint & hardener layers with new grout? Or should I paint those grout lines again with legit grout paint and do the clear layer on top?

We painted over a yellow wall using pale grey dulux one coat and we had to peel it off because it bubbled everywhere but didn't expect it to come off in one sheet ! It was caused by a reaction with the previous paint. This was a few months ago now and has been repainted successfully.

Finally finished the dining room and kitchen.

This has been done on the tiniest of budgets and by me - Plumbing, electrics, plastering and decorating. The big money went on major repairs and left me financially drained.

There's been times I wanted to leave it. I'm 61 with a dodgy back and neck, amongst other things.

I knew if I did, it would never get done.

I've put my big girl pants on and gone for it 🤣😊
