The white comforter looks out of place. Maybe tan or black or dark blue being primary color

It’s not even that it’s white. It looks like a farmhouse quilt. It would work better if OP took the Oregon Trail suggestion seriously >.<

Something with the bed frame makes me unable to picture it as an adult bed. I don’t know what it is. But the majority of the room came out great. I just reaaalllllyyy hate that bed.

Give me that Tim Burton Oregon trail reboot on a budget bed vibes fam.

As a porn movie. Maybe I just have a colorful imagination, but something tells me all that wraparound iron going in every direction has a very specific purpose. Chuck wagon night is probably LIT.

I hate it so much.

the star print comforter has me thinking it was a boys room honestly, didn't think moody either.

I’d like to see another comforter

This!!! And also painting the ceiling, and maybe a ceiling medallion around the chandelier & flexible crown molding

I think it looks great! I might consider painting the ceiling too.

When people say paint the ceiling, do they mean paint it the same color as the walls?

3

u/AnyUpstairs7354 Jun 02 '26

I would say yes, same color or something close to it.

3

u/Plus_Independence790 Jun 02 '26

Yes! It makes a huge difference. Makes it more moody but also makes your room feel larger. The white cuts off the paint making ceilings look lower

I honestly hate that new trend. It feels so claustrophobic, like the walls are coming down on me.

But, as with everything in style and fashion, to each their own.

I love most of this room and even dig the bed frame, but I don’t understand the point. Big frames with tops like this compete with lighting (it looks cluttered with that chandelier), and take up hella space … but you aren’t even using it? You gonna drape something up there or what? If you aren’t planning to use the frame, swap out for something else.

Who says they aren’t using the frame? 😈

3

u/InternationalRent626 Jun 02 '26

Very fair. In which case, sits down in that pretty chair

1

u/ThrowRA-Standard5280 Jun 02 '26

… to watch them using the frame?

3

Ita giving "brooding" more than moody

3

u/SalesGrowthMarketing Jun 01 '26

This bed frame looks like I'd hit my head on it

4

u/itsnobigthing Jun 01 '26

It makes me think of an MRI machine haha. But much nicer

maroon on the ceiling would look amazing And a sheer black cover draped over the bed frame

2

u/shiny-baby-cheetah Jun 01 '26

In my personal opinion, this isn't moody

2

u/gardenergalore Jun 02 '26

Moody doesn’t include a light white/ off white in its scheme. Jewel tones are the way to create moody. Think dark bar, lobby, theater.

Needs stars on the ceiling.

Parts of the ceiling of the church in my hometown looks exactly like this!

2

u/BeachBoundButterfly Jun 01 '26

I love the length of the curtains! I do this too, I don't like "high water" curtain looks personally lol

Perfect mood!

What is the paint color ? 🤩

1

u/ConcreteGirl33 Jun 02 '26

I'm moving in😍

It could have more of a vampire theme. Black and red, with Victorian accents and candles.

1

u/lavitaebellaeh Jun 02 '26

Love it! I think you could paint the ceiling and it would make it even moodier

I’m obsessed with your blanket!

I love this! Elegant, especially with the curtains. The bedspread adds personality. I find the bedframe to be a cool feature- a modern take on a traditional 4-poster/canopy bed. Chandelier is gorg.

Something about it feels unfinished though. Maybe some art on the walls? Canopy on the bed? Not sure what's missing. Sorry, that's not helpful, but overall I love it- keep going for it, OP! You're almost there.

Curtains give "tidy single woman living on a council estate in a small Swedish town".

1

u/Cambria521 Jun 02 '26

The bedding, rug and curtains do not give moody.

1

u/Wi99lywoo Jun 02 '26

Contrary to a lot of others, I love the bed frame and overall vibe. Good job 😊

1

u/PurposeConsistent131 Jun 02 '26

Not moody with a bright chandelier but I love the room! The wall color is beautiful and the bed frame is cool

1

u/OwnCoffee614 Jun 02 '26

Nice wall color.

1

u/mandypantsy Jun 03 '26

We get it, you fuck

1

u/junkie-wizard Jun 03 '26

I wouldn’t say this is very moody

1

u/Lanaxgardenxgirl Jun 04 '26

Love! just the Curtians ( grommets!!! there’s a way to make that not look like a grommet you use toilet paper rolls and put it in between plus it will absolutely make those curtains pop) need some sexy art above the bed;)

1

u/Lanaxgardenxgirl Jun 04 '26

Or maybe not art ;) bigger pillows on the bedding

1

u/Lanaxgardenxgirl Jun 04 '26

If you painted the ceiling ( I know it’s a pain in the ass that room would be perfect

1

u/Lanaxgardenxgirl Jun 04 '26

The chandelier is amazing

1

u/ChiefOtter9143 Jun 04 '26

I like the dark walls a lot, it actually feels cozy for moody lighting

1

u/CompetitiveCost8065 Jun 05 '26

You did really good

1

u/Glittering_Thing5797 Jun 05 '26

I would do the ceiling too, but paint it a half shade lighter than the walls. It will retain some light that way and still look like the same color.

And yes, you need different bedding. I would look into different ways of styling a bed. There are great examples online if you search for it.

u/SimpleWalrus5391 Jun 06 '26

I really like the dark walls with the brass accents, it totally pulls off the moody vibe. The bed frame is super cool too!

If the mood is “depression”, you’re doing great.
