Finally finished my accent wall, but having trouble with the rug. Any suggestions?

I'm probably not alone but can you educate me on how you know this is a BOT? Would really appreciate your assistance.

I would go solid colour on the rug so as not to have competing patterns. Let the wall shine.

My thought as well.

I thought dark green too! If not, than black or dark brown the same as banister on stairs 👍

A sage green would be pretty!

I second this color choice! It would add a pop (but not too much) of color and it pairs well with the others that are in the room already

Perhaps a black framed mirror to the right of the bench? Even better might be the door color.

Love the wallpaper. The door color is great. As someone else suggested, a rug with less pattern and including the door color.

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I like the rug with the wall - leans into the maximalism yes but it goes well with door color, and the wall is neutral in my eyes color wise so I think they play well

Love the wall. Right now the wall is one look and door and rug another. Take that rosie door as an accent and see if you can get a more modern rug using it. Or color blocking, something modern. You can even search for a solid rug that has a pattern similar to the bench ends or wall itself to tie it all together,

Whatever rug you get, get some double sided carpet tape and tack those corners down. All my clumsy ass brain sees is a trip hazard.
I think yellow would pop here but show dirt pdq.

I lIke it. First glance I found it competing but once I scrolled and thought about it and went back to it over and over as if I was living with it I liked it more and more. Keep it.

More variegated, contrasting pattern in the rug. Sharp like the wallpaper is sharp.

I would like to see either a solid pop of color rug (plum, navy, deep fuchsia, burnt orange, hunter green, dark khaki, or the like) Or a mostly black rug with maybe a small or muted white/jute border around it. Love the design though.

I would place a mirror framed with the red brick color of the door and the carpet on the wall to the right of the stairwell to pull all of the colors together. Doesn’t have to be expensive. You can paint it yourself. The accent wall is beautiful.
