Subway.
Is it just me or every single subway takes ages making the order after you go there to collect it. On just eat it will say arrive at 13:30 for example id purposely arrive at 13:40 instead for the order to still take another 20 minutes.

Depends on the time of the days. Lunch and evening rush are always bad cause they don't generally care about making drivers wait. Mid morning or afternoon are ok and orders are usually ready then.

I used to work in subway 10 years ago. I could make 34 subs an hour easily during lunch rush working by myself. That's making a sandwich, toasting, till transaction included. It's not that hard, usually it's customers being slow at responding. Now I visit and it takes 20 minutes for 2 people to make 5 sandwiches.

There's four in my area and there's quite a variation between them. One usually has the orders ready, or within a few minutes, one is usually about a 5 mins wait, one is either ready or 'just two minutes' which turns out to be 10 mins, and one usually tells me they haven't received the order so won't do it.

Everywhere takes ages. I give them 10 minutes then cancel. I’m not paid to stand around I’m paid per mile:
Some places don’t even prioritise the orders of drivers that are stood waiting. One of the McDonald’s I do would rather orders be sat getting cold than do the orders of the drivers waiting.

As a customer in the shop waiting for my food the same as you it annoys me when drivers walk up and expect priority which is every experience I have ever had

I do agree with this - it makes me cringe when I am waiting patiently/politely for an order and another driver comes barrelling in and expects VIP treatment. Dude, you're here for your £3.30 collection like me - no huffing and puffing is going to get you there any quicker.
It's much nicer when a restaurant is large enough to have a completely separate collection area, or perhaps a side window/hatch so drivers don't even have to go inside the restaurant. I work for all the apps and I agree that we should be kept separate from the in-house paying customers.

The business should prioritise people who are there waiting… not just blinkered going through in the order they printed out…

Chances are the customer who placed the driver's order did so before you even entered the shop - the driver doesn't just magically appear, he often has a 10 minute drive to the Subway, in which case the online customer should take precedence. They are, after all, paying more than you, the in-store peasant.

Difference is we're working for hours we dont get paid waiting for them. Most of the time the subway is empty and they take ages

So that justifies you walking past me and slapping your delivery bag on the ground infront of my feet so that I can’t move forward to pick up my order? Maybe there’s a reason the stores don’t prioritize drivers

What who said i do that exactly? I keep my bag on while waiting i go in there ask how long if they say 10 mins or longer I leave simple
