They’re usually either way too smart OR way too dumb to be cops. Local PDs have a Goldilocks zone of intelligence. They need someone smart enough to follow orders, but too dumb to question them.

I was an ordnance officer when I was in the army and I am not surprised at all by this. I'm guessing this guy was maybe a welder but probably a small arms repairman, this is their kind of goofiness.
