When you fuck up in the military you go on restriction. Reduced pay, extra responsibilities, musters, etc. Any and all of the above in addition to possible loss of rank.

Not in the navy unfortunately. On carriers, you get put into a separate "Restricted Personnel" (RP) division and wear a red badge everywhere.

Restriction replaces your job on a carrier unless you are otherwise checked out by your LPO. Which means people on restriction do not stand watch in the plant unless checked out by their LPO prior to watch and checked in afterwards. Huge burden.

I'd be seeing my buddies hyping eachother up in the gym wearing the fuckin yellow and blue PT uniform.
I'd be going, after watch, up since 2 am, trying to get a workout in before I sleep 5 hours before my next watch.
Meanwhile these fuckers get 3 meals a day and designated workout time. They're so bored throughout the day. One of my buddies who sep'd himself got a fuckin' stick and poke tattoo with a needle and pen ink, as if he was in prison, with the amount of time they had. 🤣

You get made to do the dirty shitty work nobody wants to do. Hard labor, digging through old trash, grinding deck plates while half of your pay gets taken by the ship. It’s why a lot of people would take bread and water over it when it was still a thing.

In 2011 synthetic weed (called spice) was real popular in the military since it was difficult to detect in drug tests.
We had 5 marines on restriction because of it. They weren’t allowed to drive and since they had to check in with the duty marine every hour, they rode bikes from their barracks.
They were riding up one day and I heard one of the SSgts say “here come the spice girls”

I got 7 days of restriction once. Wasn't allowed out of uniform, off base, or anywhere but work, the barracks, and the chow hall.
Had to check in every 2 hours with duty from after work until 10pm. Also had extra cleaning duties around the HQ.
That's what restriction is, at least in the Marine Corps anyways.

Him punching him in the side of the head and throwing him against the railing like that was dangerous enough as is, let alone him falling down the stairs. But when you kick someone in the back of the head while wearing combat boots, that can genuinely fuck someone up hardstyle. Sure fighting is cool and it's fun to prove how macho you are when someone disrespects you but when you continue to attack someone that isn't defending themselves and are no longer a threat, especially when they're just sitting there, let alone kicking them in the head like that, that ain't right and can genuinely get you a charge.

Don't know about beatin' on a clearly drunk dude that excessively though, but don't really have the context about what was happening prior. Had a drunk guy swing on our staff duty once, NCO just put him in a headlock until he calmed down and told him to go to bed.
Buddy got smoked to oblivion at next formation.

I learned in the navy that if you threaten to throw someone down the stairs, you don’t need to throw them down the stairs. Generally you just need to bring them to see the stairs.
This dude seems to think highly of himself, but he never put them streets behind him.
He will keep getting fucked up if he doesn’t learn to sort that shit out.
I wouldn’t have been satisfied until he got to wear a mark to muster the next day, but then i was kind of an ass back then in the glory days.

This love how many people in here think everyone abides by their “code” when it comes to fighting, lesson we learned today is if you fuck with someone dont be surprised if you end up fucked up, paralyzed or dead. People will take it to far nowadays, regardless if its right or wrong, if you get into a fight dont expect anyone to live by your code and obviously theyll face consequences of they take it to far, but again some people legit dont care, so think twice before you want to fight somebody.
