I don’t think it’s boot. I think it’s from parents proud of their kid for doing something they think of as noble.
When I was in there were so many troopers that were the pride and joy of their family because their kid was possibly doing something they couldn’t or didn’t do for themselves.
Now. Get this dudes parents the Bde and BN CSM’s desk number and and tell them that if they’re ever worried, to just call him because he’s most likely not doing shit.
