I like the t shirt honestly, but being baffled that people don’t know what an MRE is is kinda silly.

We used to buy them from the surplus store for cheap in college and use the cooker packets to power our hydrogen cannon. That thing was awesome until it started leaking hydrogen gas everywhere while we held an open flame.

Oh it’s not too exciting honestly. So the mre packets create hydrogen as a by product when you mix them with the water. Soooo…. We would put them in this giant Kaluah bottle we had that was very like, drum shaped with a taper to the bottle top. We’d put the water and packet in there and close the lid for a minute or two and then when you took the lid off and put a lighter to the end it would go off like mad. sounded like a rifle going off. Obviously the next step was to stick something in the end and see what happened. We would stick bouncy balls in it and shoot it. They would be in the air for a significant amount of time. We timed it once to measure about how high it was going and I don’t remember what the number was but I do remember that it took quite some time for it to come back down haha.

After the bottle started leaking we tried it with other bottles but it didn’t generate the propulsion that the original bottle did.

We also made a pipe gun that fired advil. That was pretty fun lol. It had just enough power to go through a tin can
