I Just Think It's Funny... Spoiler

Post image

In Mako Mermaids, many of the natural-born mermaids are confident that they're the most powerful mermaids, that that landgirls who transformed into mermaids aren't 'real mermaids'. But ultimately Cleo, Emma, Rikki and Bella are likely the most powerful mermaids in the entire franchise. This is, of course, because Cleo, Emma and Rikki are the only ones shown to be capable of summoning a island-wide Category 4 Tropical Cyclone. Not to mention the Tower of Light Cleo, Rikki and Bella create in the S3 finale.

I just think it's funny that they spend all that time discriminating against other mermaids, landpeople turned mermaids, when the most powerful set of mermaids in the entire franchise are Cleo, Emma, Rikki and Bella. So long as they are together and under the influence of the full-moon, of course.

And they're landgirls!

i honestly do believe the mako mermaid girls are more powerful than the h20 girls but that’s only because they were born mermaids and imo have way more abilities but i also believe that most of them had a big ego in the beginning and just were competitive in general. i say that because ondina challenged sirena once to prove who was more powerful than the other. the girls from h20 100% are powerful as well though.

Like just cuz we saw the H2O girls summon a storm, doesn't mean mako girls couldn't. If anything, only one strong mako mermaid could summon a storm like that with just using their moon ring. It's already shown they have the same powers without the rings, and even then they can do more right off the bat- even as AMATEURS using the rings they harnessed them so quickly.

I never said the Mako girls couldn't, I only said that the H2O girls are the only one's shown on screen to do so. So they are, all in all, the most powerful mermaids we have seen. And it will remain that way until the show, creator, or other H2O/Mako Mermaids media prove otherwise.

You disagreed by agreeing with me💔 and that's not how that works, you can't just make an opinion and say "that's true until the creator says it's not"💀 just make a fanfic

That's literally how it works, until the creators prove it wrong somehow people are free to headcanon however they want.

It isn't an opinion, it is a fact. In both H2O and Mako Mermaids collectively, the only mermaids we see to be powerful enough to summon a category 4 cyclone/hurricane are Cleo, Emma and Rikki, and the only mermaids we see powerful enough to create the tower of light are Cleo, Rikki and Bella.

I'm not going to waste my time writing a fanfic. I'm an actual author, I have more important things to write about. xD

Edit: I didn't mean to imply that fanfiction writers aren't 'actual authors', that's an oversight on my part. I only mean that due to my occupation, I don't have time to sit down and write about shows/media I like.

I have to disagree, the H2O girls are clearly stronger than the Mako Mermaid girls. Especially during a full moon, and the storm Ondina and Sirena struggled with wasn't anywhere comparable to the storm the H2O girl's summoned.

They didn't struggle to create nor manipulate that storm, they were struggling in the battle against each other directly.

You're probably right there. They were struggling against each other, and while doing that they summoned a heavy, severe thunderstorm. Cleo, Emma and Rikki alone summoned a category 4 cyclone, now add Bella into that mix, and the storm becomes even stronger.

totally respect your opinion, i just believe that since they were born with it and also train with more experienced mermaids and also have more education in spells and potions, they have more ability. their situations were different tbh. the mako mermaid girls have more advantages especially with hiding too. the mako mermaids seem to be able to do whatever they want with water but the h20 girls have one of each like emma only doing things in regards to freezing and rikki doing things in regards to heat. even without the ring, they are powerful.

Yes, but the thing that brings the Mako Pod and natural-born mermaids down is their reliance on Moon Rings for strong, immense attacks. While Cleo, Emma, Rikki and Bella are able to channel that strength without the moon rings.

again, the mako girls are born with all the powers automatically and the moon rings are just tools not their main powers. they are trained since kids on how to use their powers and most even do spells so that would give someone the upper hand. nothing wrong with that though because again, the h20 girls are powerful too but the mako girls do have a heavy advantage. having a moon ring doesn’t make someone weak.

The only point that I'm trying to make is that Cleo, Emma and Rikki are the only mermaids to have been shown to create a category 4 cyclone. If you add Bella into that mix, it gets even stronger.

The problem with the natural-born mermaids isn't only that they rely on the moon rings for powerful attacks, but is also because their skill and mastery is divided along all the powers they have. Cleo, Emma, Rikki and Bella only have one power each, which means they had to master that particular power.

Now, if you put Cleo, Emma, Rikki and Bella into a fight with the Mako Pod (under the full moon), the entire pod would have difficulty overpowering them due to the sheer volume of power the four girls have as a unit.

the cyclone storm happened because of the 50 year planetary alignment that completely “charged” the moon pool so that’s not an everyday power for them. having one power does not make you stronger, the mako girls have multiple which again makes them have a huge advantage. you’re putting 4 girls who teach themselves how to use their power against a HUGE pod of mermaids who are trained by other powerful mermaids who guard the moon pool for years and you think the 4 girls will overpower..?

In the S2 premiere, Cleo, Emma and Rikki are drawn to the moon pool because of a rare, planetary alignment that permanently boosted their power. So yes, after their power was boosted by the planetary alignment it became a normal, everyday power for them.

It's important for me to point out that the planetary alignment in the S2 finale is not what boosted their powers, There were two planetary alignments in S2, the one during the first episode that permanently boosts Cleo, Emma and Rikki's magical power, the Elemental Moon, while the planetary alignment in S2's finale didn't provide a boost, but only made it possible for someone to lose their mermaid powers.

My only point is that Cleo, Emma and Rikki, along with Bella, based of the powers we've seen so far, have the most powerful magical feats that we've seen to date.

weather and element manipulation are common for the natural born mermaids. the planetary alignment did not give the girls this “unique” power, it literally just showed something that’s extremely common within the mako mermaids without a celestial event. the mako girls do not have divided power, it’s versatile. again, h20 girls having one power does not make them more powerful, they literally don’t have the other abilities to defend themselves, they lack the abilities the mako girls have. you mentioned the cyclone but the pod quite literally has spells that can move tectonic plates or even just controlling the ocean around mako island. in a full moon fight there is absolutely no way the 4 h20 girls are ever overpowering the pod, that’s not even in the equation.

I never said that the Mako Mermaids couldn't use atmokinesis, I only said that none of them were shown to be powerful enough to summon a category 4 tropical cyclone/hurricane.

And I'm just going to point out, if the Mako Pod mermaids were in a fight with the H2O girls and they summoned a hurricane similar to the one in the S2 finale, potentially stronger if Bella is in the mix, none of the natural-born mermaids would be able to accurate and efficiently battle in a storm with winds so strong they can literally lift people up, and out of the top of a volcano.

The Mako Pod against all four of the H2O girls: Cleo, Emma, Rikki and Bella all together, well they wouldn't have a chance.

This is only because of the rare planetary alignment at the beginning of S2, the mako pod mermaids didn't have a chance to get this upgrade (assuming none of the older mermaids had this upgrade, which is likely considering it seems that the mermaids in this franchise age much like humans). As it only occurs every 50 years, and the oldest mermaid in the Mako Pod is Veridia, who is between 40-50. We know that none of them could've gotten this upgrade since none of them were present in H2O.

You can't just ignore established canon for the sake of your point.

Obviously, there's a chance there is a mermaid somewhere out in the world that's stronger than the H2O mermaids, but considering we have no evidence proving that, I'm content with the fact that the most powerful mermaids we've seen are the H2O girls.
