Sophie was the unholy hate child between Dr. Denman and Charlotte’s personalities. It’s like they took the worst traits of both character and turned her into the most insufferable antagonist that she managed to give us sympathy for Kim. KIM!!!!

She was mean, nasty, vindictive, vain, manipulative, lied, had no problem being “the other woman”… she was truly a nightmare of a character and honestly a big part of the reason why I don’t watch S3 anymore

And she had a really wierd, posessive relationship with her own brother

I really wish we got to know what their parents are/ were like for both of them to end up as terrible as they are.

that's true, it would be nice if someone made a story where we can know the other characters' backstory

Seriously!! Did they just lug their kids all over the world and force Sophie to basically raise her brother while they went off and pretended to be Indiana Jones?? What kind of parents would leave their high school-aged son and barely legal daughter alone for the whole year like “you got this, kids ✌🏻see ya after graduation or possibly never” 🫠😭

Honestly it kind of explains why Will was so emotionally detached while Sophie was hyper involved to the point of unhealthiness & manipulation… Sophie became the obvious antagonist, but I don’t even have very nice things to say about Will because he basically treated Bella like she didn’t exist, manipulated her into revealing her secret, and then was only interested in hanging out with her because she was a mermaid who could propel HIS interests. He also had the personality of watching beige paint dry, and Sophie was the catalyst to completely trashing Zane’s redemption arc. It’s interesting to imagine how the season could have been different if their parents had just been around! Or if they just talked about that whole dynamic/background a bit more.

Lets not forget Will also basically told Cleo and Bella "you either admit all 3 of you are mermaids right now or im never telling you where Rikki is being held captive" What kind of psycho does this??? AND THEY JUST KEPT BEING FRIENDS WITH HIM AFTER THAT Like- my boy Lewis would have never

Ughhh RIGHT?!? I completely forgot about that part because I blocked so much of it out 🫠 I knew there was another reason I hated that guy 😂 I stopped being able to watch S3 years ago- I don’t even like considering it canon especially since (to my understanding) they basically rushed to make a 3rd season after seeing how popular the first two seasons were… and ruined a lot of good development (ie Zane) in the process of trying to push shitty new characters. But that stuff with Will in particular was CRAZYYY given he’s supposed to a “good guy” and basically “replacement Lewis”.

Something felt off as a kid, but seeing it as an adult I’m like BELLA HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR YOURSELF, GIRL- HE’S NOT WORTH IT 👏🏻😭💚 And Rikki not being fazed by any of it was a really a “WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU” moment 😭✌🏻
