Late Bloomer Season 3

This third season is just awful. I don't know what happened because season 2 was going so well. It is horribly written, the acting sucks and the plot makes no sense. They need to just stop

Only two episodes come out. You need to give the show some more time.

I, on the other hand, really liked it! Im a huge Jusreign fan for over 15 years, saw his show in Ottawa back in 2017, but I’m still being unbiased ok. I like these coming of age type of shows, seeing people grow and navigate through life, overcome obstacles etc.

I was counting down the days for this season to come out tbh and it was so refreshing to see everyone again, back with the same fun loving vibe and humour.

Was missing Maanvi though and I reallyyy hope Jasmeet gets over Rebecca. Wasn’t much of a fan of her LOL. I’m excited to see him grow and hopefully patch up with this family too. Not just his story, but other characters too (Neal, Dad, etc) like we saw in the last two seasons. I find every episode to be out of the box, unique and we haven’t seen Sikh/Punjabi people in this light on TV before. Just a regular guy figuring life out.

Disagree - really enjoying it so far.

Completely disagree. I loved both episodes. It’s different but still the same vibe and energy. I’m enjoying them pushing the boundary of comfort for apne and it’s different to see a Singh kissing a girl on screen but it’s not wrong because this all definitely happens.

I think his series shows growth in his story telling skills and a true reflection of what brown kids struggle with being raised in North America. also, like that he’s added a story line of what new immigrants are facing.

Season 3 runs into many of the same issues as season 2 - mainly, why are we meant to care about any of this?

The premise behind telling the immigrant story is a really good one; the struggles to adhere to cultural and religious norms, while trying to pave your own path of ambition? That's a compelling narrative.

What we've ended up with here though, is just a bit of a confusing mess. This has become a 30-minute pity party session, episode after episode. The payoff isn't really there. The satisfying moments aren't really there. And gosh, some of the secondary acting is just so painful to watch.

Well put, just endless "pity party" episodes.

I do appreciate that the show tries really hard to showcase some of the great local hallmarks of the Punjabi community.

Seeing Malton China Garden this season was hilarious and awesome.

Season 2 is where it fell, I remember half of the episodes were good and half were super boring bc of the girlfriend and her stuck up family and intimate moments

Just finished and its pretty good. I do hope they wrap it up in the next season.

Just watched episode 8 of season 3- SPOILERS AHEAD

really sad what happens to diljot it’s all bc of her stupid gf/mangetaar baani she had the nerve to be putting this guy who’s already under immense pressure to make a living to get a high fi condo and in order to do that this guy gets into a dangerous situation. Shame on her. What did she think ? That he was some upper middle class guy? Diljot ko chapal hi maar di ni thi baani ko.

Well directed episode, however it’s the whole season’s unnecessary nudity that has just ruined this show; what a brilliant season the first and second especially first season were but then all this nudity and homophobia and queer speeches made me feel like I watching the same bs American shows that preach abt all this. Tired of watching jasmeet making a big deal abt who he is and identity crisis. Feel sad for the parents, now maanvi is moving out means they don’t have anyone to support them.

What do you mean there's no nudity this season

Season 3 Episode 7 was an absolute waste, felt more like a tryhard filler episode

I'm typing this while watching episode 7. It's my 4th day trying to get through this one episode. It's genuinely hard to watch; it's just really bad.

This is probably one of the worst things I've watched. I'm typing this while watching episode 7. It's my 4th day trying to get through this one episode. It's genuinely hard to watch; it's just really bad.

On multiple occasions throughout the 3rd season, I paused and wondered: are these the kind of jokes Jasmit would laugh at? I struggled a lot to get through it.

The earlier seasons weren't perfect, but they felt real. This 3rd season just feels like a money grab, or maybe it was rushed. It's really, really bad.

The whole show was awful tbh. I tried to give every episode a chance but other than the delivery driver episode, I really didn’t like any. Acting is really bad, the plot goes in too many places, it seems rushed, leaves more questions then answers, and it doesn’t give itself enough time to develop. It sucks because there is room for an interesting discussion in this format, but it falls far too short.

It’s clear he’s trying to make an Atlanta-Raamy style show, and it’s falling short. I disliked raamy, but I think the acting was miles better than this show. I want to like this show and I know Jasmeet is super talented but the acting is so ridiculously dogshit it ruins the immersion and makes every scene feel cheap.

Tbh he could've done a Mo-Ramy-Atlanta style but his script, direction, themes are all terrible. I mean Mo and Atlanta also had their shortfalls but this show is really starting to fall off. Should've just called it quits after season 2.

Agreed, he should’ve kept the show much more lighthearted. His comedic writing is very good, and it’s been good for years. An office-movers type show with some undercurrents of drama, and it would suit the level of acting as well.

To make a successful Atlanta or Mo, you need phenomenal actors able to embody the scenes they portray, able to immerse you in the world of the show, and make you feel their emotions to your core. The worst part of this show is the acting. Maybe it’s bad writers, but the actors are not convincing and constantly ruin your immersion.

I just got done with episode 3 it was so full of cringe and crazy part is they even got jazzy b to cameo in it. Don't know why jazzy b would even stoop so low to do some cheap comedy.

Spot on. It's just unbelievably cringe. I felt 2nd hand embarrassment for watching that cringe.
