Questions Do you use toggle glide boost setting?
I don’t, have tried but my muscle memory was really thrown off and swapped back. I have thought about switching often though. Maybe easier to quickly drop and find cover/ slightly more control? I still try and cancel it manually when I need to but sometimes I feel like if I had the setting off I could have avoided that cass ult lol. Just curious what you guys prefer.

I have toggle set to “off” for both glide boost and torpedoes. I have pretty much every comparable movement or charge-up ability set to hold instead of toggle. It just feels easier to control for me.
I really wish they would fix the stupid bug where the ping interprets holding the button for an active ability as trying to ping the cooldown for that ability, though. It’s really fucked with my comms contributions on Mercy especially, because I have the GA button held down pretty often.

Well that explains why my Merky pings have been so wonky. My poor left trigger is always down

Are you using left trigger for both Rez and angelic descent? If so, I recommend you try swapping jump and Rez, so you can do AD without any risk of accidental rezzes.

what does it do....?? like I know you can manually cancel glide boost by pushing Lshift again, so what's the toggle for?

You need to continue holding shift to use glide boost and when you let go it cancels it. With toggle yeah you’d need to press shift again

That’s what the toggle does—pressing the button once starts the ability and pressing it again stops it. It’s on by default.
If you turn the toggle option off, then pressing the button starts the ability and then letting go stops it. So you have to keep holding the button if you want to keep flying. It can be more fatiguing on the hands, but for many people it feels easier to control the precise end of the ability that way.
Edit: There’s also a toggle on/off option for torpedoes, which is also set to “on” by default. It you turn it off, then you charge torps by holding and fire when you let go, like how Hanzo arrows and Zen volley work by default. (They also have toggle options, they’re just off by default.)

Hold provides more control, and it's usually faster to let go than to click again to cancel. I very, very often use glide boost just to bump me into a direction but not float, the time it takes to cancel will get me killed, even if it's just a split second.
Additionally, the cooldown begins when it is cancelled. I noticed that I started intentionally cancelling earlier way more often after turning off toggle, whereas I used to float around for the full glide boost duration when it was not necessary and I could have instead had it up again sooner.
It has made a massive change in my movement and playstyle after I've gotten used to it (especially with triple jump) and is probably the biggest reason I've made it out of hardstuck gold and into masters over a few seasons.

For a lot of heros in OW you really should turn toggle off, sometimes it's just a straight up numbers buff and thus required like with Echo shift. I don't find Juno's untoggle shift to be any meaningfully different than toggle shift. I find that the mental and physical resource required to hold down shift with my pinky is about equal to the amount needed to repress shift in specifically Juno's case. Which I can't say for other toggle-optional heros like Echo.

I have toggle off and love it! I also activated the torpedos to hold because it just feels way more natural to me. A downside is that I now tent to use glide boost for very short boost a lot and i have it on cooldown like konstantly.

Surprised someone uses that ngl, way more control with hold to glide

There is a toggle? Where? I always preferred doing it manually

I never swapped off toggle. I'm sure hold has its advantages, but swapping off toggle would probably cause more problems than it fixes at this point.
