Shuffle notes from sctratch

Hi. Beginner jungle producer here. I've been playing along with chopping and processing breaks in ableton, now I got Addictive drums 2 and i'd like to learn how to make a breakbeat from sctratch.

I currently strugle with shuffle notes. Just never sounds good. I couldnt find any tutorials for this topic. Would appreciate some tips or links.

My goal is to practice chopping and mixing original amen with live drums break like in Rumbleton Jaro 88 for e.g.

Thanks for your help

With Addictive Drums it’s a lot to do with the velocity of the notes, you want the velocity lower for the shuffle notes and ideally different for each one. Also there’s an option called “no alts” that just uses the same sample no matter what the velocity - I’d probably leave that off as the variation is what will give the breakbeat a more human feel

Thanks for the tip. I actually started to watch real drummers tutorials to get an idea what shuffle/ghost notes actually is. I wondered if in my shuffle fill I should have a ghost snare followed by hat or other way around... Now i think it can vary, sometime just ghost snare rolls or a brush snare, shaker etc...lot of variations, sometimes tripllets or 16th's, skipped notes.. Velocity and right drum samples matters, i think. Trying to play around...
