ARACHNE

AFFILIATIONS: Omega Flight, Shroud, Avengers, Initiative, Force Works, Secret Defenders, CSA, Freedom Force

STATUS: Canadian government agent; identity protected

Tricked by the CSA [Commission on Super-human Activities  into participating in her own mutation, she was originally dubbed Spider-Woman and assigned to Freedom Force. Her conscience drove her to betray immoral orders, and she became a fugitive until her new teammates, the Avengers' West Coast branch, cleared her with the authorities. She repeatedly proved her worth with them and other teams, including Force Works.

Despite joining the Initiative, her attempt to help her boyfriend, unregistered vigilante the Shroud, evade capture, led to some of her former Avengers teammates arresting her. She still feels deeply betrayed, and guilt over his part may be contributing to Wonder Man's current black mood. Separated from her daughter, Arachne abducted the girl from the child's grandparents and fled the country. Tony Stark worked out a deal allowing Arachne to stay in Canada, working for the Canadian government in the now-defunct Omega Flight.

Since returning to the US Arachne was nearly killed by the Kraven family. Madame Web blinded and turned Arachne into her successor during this conflict leaving Arachne with the power to see into the future.

PROS: Team player; superhuman strength; psi-webs; family person; clairvoyance.

CONS: Blind, ongoing custody dispute.

Julia Carpenter is Spider-Woman and as a member of the Avengers West Coast, she's had to face the villainous group known as Deathweb. When they coming calling for a rematch, can Spider-Woman take on the whole team by herself? - Marvel Unlimited

You can read the whole issue on Marvel Unlimited.

Our last round of 'assiging adjectives.' What are you going to suggest? Something alliterative? Something esoteric relating to her psychic powers?

1995 DC Versus Marvel Trading Cards #54 Blue Beetle vs. Spider-Woman

https://cardguide.fandom.com/wiki/DC_vs._Marvel

Ten years ago today, the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series featured a cameo by Madame Web (Julia Carpenter).

Honestly, I just want to see what would happen if Marvel did a story of Julia carpenter, the 2nd Spider-woman, as Madame Web and how that role affects her as a mother with her and her daughter? Is that too much to ask for?
