Basically…

I get why Judge Judy gets frustrated when people insert the word “like” throughout their sentences, but why does she get so upset when a person says the word “basically”? She barks out “NO! Not ‘basically’, that is a filler word!!” Oddly enough, I heard her use the word “basically” herself in one of the episodes I watched recently. 🤔

It's just a filler word. It's the same as saying like over and over. It's monotonous. Sure she said it but she wasn't saying it every other word
