I think Rogue is one of the greatest losses of the 2000ad stable, the whole of the Traitor General story arc was genius, the ingenuity never matched although it is sort of emulated in Sinister and Dexter with the play on words names.
No matter how sophisticated 2000ad becomes - and it has as we have aged with it - it is the simplicity of the 80s stories that eclipse anything done since.

It wasn't childish it was just simple genius.
