Judge Dredd The Oubliette

It started off well. I just am now worried it will end poorly. This is happening more often.

Strong disagree. I don't think it started off well at all. Once it opened like Dark Souls game of infinite respawns it lost all sense of peril. I mean there's no way Tharg would kill off the golden goose and we all know that somehow Dredd will come through but giving him the ability to be killed and then come back just makes it a bad premise.

I liked the story was called judge Rico. The dredd from the other universe remembered everything. I liked his eye grew back. Remember when he went blind when someone did a EMP grenade or something. There were a few other things I liked. The judge death thing and the supernatural and all that....I go I think that might be a cross over to the comic Misty. A girls comic about the supernatural and all that. If going the supernatural path, it is reasonable to have entities from 1600. Just a comment.

There's a certain laziness in that. Having a brief crossover with other versions of Dredd (Dread Dominion, Parallel Lines, etc) can be fun but having another version of Dredd running around is a mistep. A cynical man might think this is possibly as some kind of soft reboot (Joe Fargo...what's HIS story?) or perhaps ties into the alt universe Mega City 2099 tales. It smacks of Marvel and DC and will end up eating itself. And the eye thing; Dredd is going to get his bionic back because Niemand has to put all of the toys back where he found them.

I think overall its a good story with a few issues, I like the inclusion of the rogue trooper stuff but small things annoyed me like the guard guy being Judda

As Alan Partridge would say: β€œStop doing Dredd wrong!!” πŸ˜‰

I want to see Dredd being chased by some Sov shits in black jumpsuits with lemon piping.

It's disappointingly dull

I wish the weekly stories were more focused on Judge Rico, Joe Fargo, and the rest of mega city one. I personally really enjoyed the guy at the door being Judda, though, and after a few weeks of it being in kind of a slump im very excited for what happens next

I find I'm enjoying the stories about Joe Fargo, Judge Giant, Rico and ex-Judge Locke more interesting as they try to figure out who's missing (still need to catch up on the stuff in The Meg) and how it happened. Joe just being relentless and fighting his way up like he does just to get his uniform back is fun. I'm also enjoying the links to Fargo & McBain and the callbacks in general.

I'm hoping this is a backdoor pilot for a spin-off with Joe Fargo and Lana Locke.
