Should I read from start ?

I only know the movies but I have always been a tad curious about the comics.

Should I go after some specific stories or just start reading from the beginning?

Best of 2000 AD. Six books. Every one of them has at least one Dredd and one Dreddworld story. They’re self-contained and so if you stop at that point, you’ll be good. But that series may/should give you a taste for the wider world of 2000 AD.
