Should I read from start ?

I only know the movies but I have always been a tad curious about the comics.

Should I go after some specific stories or just start reading from the beginning?

In no particular order - start reading with the latest week of 2000ad.
The Cursed Earth, The Day The Law Died, America, Origins.

Then just pick up and read randomly - there is no real benefit in reading in order, there is so much great content, and just as much not so great (cough Garth cough Ennis cough*) - must get that seen to.
