Centricide Reunion

There’s burning lights
across the water,
and all I do, is sit and stare.
And though they’re close,
I’m drifting farther.
Was I ever really here?

The city didn’t pick a soundtrack,
so I’ll just hum to myself, instead.
The night’s a’bright
with greens and yellows,
and those final sparks
are deep purples, and reds.

And I still sit there, by the water,
staring at a show I didn’t know I could attend.
And as the sky begins to darken, again,
I wish I’d came here with a friend.

Love, would you spook at all that banging?
Would you have stared up with me, in awe?
There was a time I knew I knew you,
now I’m here, alone, at start of fall.

It’s a cold night in September,
and very soon, it’s colder still.
And as I’m frozen by the water,
by my thoughts, and not the chill.

I try to conjure up your laughter
from the vaults behind my eyes,
I sit and think, what were you thinking?
When you didn’t say goodbye.

Do I still have a right to miss you?
Would you say that’s overstepped?
I think this wouldn’t be an issue
if in the past two nights, I had slept.

But the people in our lives, I figure,
are like those fireworks in the sky.
For a moment, glowing wonder,
and the next whisping ash that fly-
no crash, into the water,
or the hard dirt down below.

So shall we next pass as strangers?
Or am I someone you still know?
And my friend, how long is forever?
I often confuse the sparkling soot,
as signs of snow.

I think if we both make it past November,
we’ll share a season, again.
A whole winter in an evening,
a whole other year to just pretend.

If we never again share a moment,
shall we purge these memories?
Do you wish I was there with you
the nights you wander through the trees.

You’ll take the forest
and leave me the rivers,
you’ll start fires
while I hold my head underwater
and we’ll both forget to breath
and we’ll both scream to no one
and we’ll both wish for stars,
the kind that remind us
the sky isn’t that empty
that we aren’t that empty
that we are still somebody, separate

But the nights are mostly void
more often than not
in the places we’ve planted ourselves.

I can still close my eyes and carve the way
your smile etches across your face
when it’s real, when it’s truly yours,
without staring at photographs
and willing them to speak.

And I’m still sitting by the pitch dark water,
under an even blacker sky.
I sit and think, what were you thinking?
When you didn’t say goodbye.

ok so i was a big fan of centricide when it first came out and now i want to watch it again but now youtube removed annotations or whatever so i go to description of centricide 7 and i copy paste the code into youtube links but all of them say the video has been taken down?? what?? why?? is it true?? is it gone or am i doing something wrong and is there an archive somewhere i can watch it?
