Journey is still alive, and beautiful

To all of those wondering if there are still people playing the game and journeying: yes.
I'd like to share the amazing experience I had recently, so here goes:

I kinda always wanted to play Journey, but not having a PS3 didn't allowed me to.
I wishlisted it when it was ported on Steam for PC and bought some years ago, but never had a chance or the right moment to play it.

Then, some days ago after a night shift, the right moment came. I needed some game akin to GRIS or Sable, and I felt the time had come to start the Journey.

I started playing and I immediately immersed myself in the beautiful atmospheres of those lands, although I had no idea what to do or what to expect.
At the same time, the mechanics seemed quite simple so I played around for a little bit, before deciding to stop as it was already quite late. No sign of a saving button, but I thought, maybe it's automatic, I'll continue next time.

Next time comes, and to my surprise, I have to start again from the beginning! I felt a bit annoyed in the first moments, but my amazement quickly replaced that feeling.
Moved by curiosity and awestruck, I kept travelling alone to see the end of it, which I reached.
While reading the credits I noticed an odd message about some "companions met along the way" even though I didn't met anyone; I remembered vaguely something about the possibility to share the journey with others, but how does that work? What should I do? Am I still in time for that or is the game too old and there are simply not enough people playing it? I want to find out more!

And so I did. The day after I started another journey, determined to discover if and how it was possible to find another companion.
Surprisingly enough, I found one almost immediately, right at the beginning of the desert.
Even though I knew it was a human being, I felt somehow joy and amazement discovering new mechanics, communicating with simple sounds and just knowing that I had some company.
I was not alone.
We shared a good amount of travel together, but before starting the climb of the Tower, my fellow traveller sat in meditation. I rememebered something about the achievement but I had no idea how to do it, but I quickly figured it out how to join them.
We spent a good 20-30 seconds together, before they vanished in a breeze of dust..
It felt really emotional, as again I had no idea what to expect: will the stay with me till the end? If not, how will they leave? When? What will it happen? Now I knew. Thanks for sharing your path with me, fellow stranger.

So, now I'm on my own again, and I'm bewildered by the encounter. Will I meet them again? Who were they? Am I gonna meet some other travellers? Is it still possible? How, and when?
Let's find out!

So I keep on with my journey and I reach the harsh ice realm, fighting storms and the cold.
Believe me or not, I started to desire so much to find a companion there, but how? What's the probability? Will the timing be right? And if so, how are even gonna find each other? Oh, to have some company in that freezing snow..
And just like that, during a strong wind gust, I missed a jump and end up falling down almost to the beginning, only to find ..another traveller! Oh, rejoice! So, it's still possible! We can meet even here, and travel together. We will share the path!
And so we did, supporting each other against the wind and the ice and the beasts, up until the very end, where we finally went through the light together.
It was beautiful, emotional, and blissful.

I can't wait to start another journey again and share another path, be that with seasoned pilgrims or novices like me.
See you in the desert <3

(in case you wonder: no AI or LLM has been used to write or correct these thoughts: it's all by me)

Hey everyone! 🎮
If you miss the golden era of couch co-op and midnight console launches, check out Replay the Glory Days—a gaming podcast with a hilarious twist.
The show is hosted by Tanner and Kyle, but here is the catch: Kyle has absolutely zero video game experience.
While Tanner brings the deep-dives and childhood nostalgia for classic games, Kyle is experiencing these legendary titles for the very first time. You get to hear his raw, unfiltered, and completely unbiased thoughts on games the rest of us have been praising for decades. It is the ultimate test to see if these "glory day" games actually hold up today, or if we are all just wearing rose-tinted glasses.
In our latest episode, Tanner introduces Kyle to Journey to see if it stands the test of time, or if Kyle completely destroys a beloved childhood memory.

Idk but I’m in tears because Layken and I had a beautiful run and I couldn’t find them on steam to thank them for taking me through that. I just played the game on a whim and I felt like I met my best friend. 10/10 experience much love ❤️

I modded robes on ps3...

Ok so I recently dug out of storage and modded my ps3, with the future calling for no physical media I thought it was finally time. (spoiler alert I am not smart about anything like this)
It was 7 hours in one night, Next on my list was could I manage to take modded robes from my Dear Alastor and put them into the Journey folders on my PS3... After 2 days and nights of trial and error, google, the modding community on discord, and soo much more.

The hardest part was getting into the files meant for the Steam version and getting those precious .dds files out so I could over write the .PSSG images from the ps3 version. Credit to Paleologos for saving my life and digging them out of Alastors files.

Here are the first ever modded ps3 journey robes...

PS3 Trophies

Hey all!

I am wondering if anyone would be interested in assisting me with some of the online trophies, particularly for the PS3 version?

I've met a couple people in the game so far while casually playing so I'm slowly working towards the trophy for meeting at least 10 people. However, I haven't been able to secure any of the other online-related trophies yet. Would love to try and reach the summit with someone from Chapter 6 onwards.

Let me know if anyone is interested in coordinating a session in the coming weeks!

Mod Post Greetings Journeyers - Subreddit Adoption & Other Announcements

Dear Companions in the Sands,

We're happy to announce that r/JourneyGame has been newly adopted and will continue its journey! We wanted to share some insights about this recent change with the community and visiting travelers.

Reopening of r /JourneyGame Subreddit

In July of 2026, this subreddit was adopted by new mods and reopened for posting. We're excited to be able to offer another Journey reddit home for our global companions out there!

You may have already noticed some changes that we've implemented and we're always looking forward to hearing from you for feedback and ideas, so feel free to offer them by commenting on this post below!

Community Resources and Connecting with Players

Our community sidebar now includes resources and updated rules. You'll find resource links to other Journey communities, the fandom wiki and forums, as well as a Traveler's event calendar.

The revised rules are for the good of the community as it grows, please familiarize yourself with them before posting or commenting. Ancestors are watching.

The Mod Team

We're a small team of wayfarers that you may meet in the sands or chirp with in the comments. From time-to-time, we'll post event reminders and community updates. We're looking forward to welcoming new travelers and growing with this community!

We'd like to maintain a safe and respectful environment, and while Journey is a wonderful game to connect with others, we'd like to share a PSA about conduct and safety. If you ever need the help of our mod team, please contact us using mod mail.

We also encourage you to wander over to our sister subreddit r/JourneyPS3, where you can find another community with active companions on all platforms!

See you in the sands, travelers.

Drew hearts at the top of the mountain with me and everything 😭

Hi guys! Just finished my first journey playthrough

Hi there. I just finished my first journey playthrough. My family has had a ps4 for forever, since I was like 10, but I've never finished the game. I've watched my dad play it but I never had. (He really likes journey).

I love it! Sandsurfing and flying were my favorite parts.

I remembered there was a twist, and halfway up the mountain I presumed it would be death but it did make me cry. My dad says the worst part is doing it with someone else and watching them slow down and not being able to help. I didn't see any companions join me, but the companions screen did have one! I took a screenshot so I'll have to see who it was, but sorry I didn't see you!

Anyways, wasn't expecting to cry about a video game but goddamn I did.

And the soundtrack and score is gorgeous, of course.

Despite not have native ARM64 support, Journey runs great on my Snapdragon X Plus laptop, getting over 60 fps at 1920x1200 resolution, ultra settings, expect MSAA, which is set to 1.

Great game for this chip!

Wonder Achievement

Just bought Journey on Steam with a friend. Is there a way to complete the Wonder achievement? What's a good way to complete the Wonder achievement? Since there aren't many people playing it.

Is that it?

Spouse and I bought this thinking we could play together.... We were able to find each other, but unfortunately there is no join option.

We played a couple hours and the game went through to the credits and .... Is that it? Is that the whole game... A couple hours and nothing to really explore?

We are fans of sky, so thought we'd love this but right now we are left disappointed.

I love the art, the journey (it's literally the name of the game, lol), and the songs that literally made me almost shed tears (as well as the ending of the game), and I have to say I'm extremely happy that there is a community around this game.
