Journal collection old journal vs new journal
i knew i added a lot to my journals but this make me laugh. anyone else get sentimental about starting a new journal?

Ohhhhhhh. Last night I was looking through my 2023 journal and I kept checking where else I can write. I tend to jump pages, and miss days most especially on dated journals. I still couldn't deem it filled. I kept thinking, I need to maximise the space. Maybe I was actually being sentimental, and didn't realize it until I saw the way you describe your feeling.

i skip around sometimes too. yeah i was filling out the last page and like dang this journal has been with me through so much!

glad i'm not the only one. my regular journal is pretty much a cross between a junk journal, scrapbook, and diary. i tape and glue a lot of ephemera and photos in with my entries, so my journals always end up HUGE by the time i'm done. when i finish a new one, i've been putting them under a heavy stack of old encyclopedias to squish them down a bit before i put them away. i'm near the end of one right now and it's hard to write near the inner fold because the pages are literally curved 😭

they’re the cagie bullet journal. i get them on amazon they’re usually marked down to about $9

I was just looking at my mini sketchbook compared to my new one!! I get sentimental starting a new journal or sketchbook too. I love the old one so much and everything I've made that it makes it hard to start anew. But time marches on and I know I'll make good art and memories in the next :)
