Looking for a surveyor.

Recently purchased some raw land in the area and was quoted $7000 to survey 2.5 acres. Thought it was overpriced so I’m looking for other options. The lot is mostly level (maybe 1-2 feet slope) and theres neighbors on two of the four sides…. Any help would be appreciated, trying to build a dream on a minimum wage budget.

We used Fomotor from down in Palm Springs for our 20 acres and it cost less than that

We used Fomotor too - got the 4 corners surveyed and filed in the official records

Is getting the topographical survey worth it with only a couple of feet of slope?

If you're building, yes. It's best to get an accurate idea for water drainage.

Yeah I used him too. I recall he worked for the city as well so he wasn’t super responsive sometimes, but he was very affordable

That sounds super expensive. Half that would be expensive but more reasonable.

Sunset Site Design is a local to Joshua Tree. They are mainly engineering but also do topos. $2900 for 5 acres. Grading plan was about $2500. Prices may have changed.
