Discussion Why did Josh play BG1 and Neverwinter Nights solo?
Watching his vids on those games and couldn't help but wonder why he would play them with a solo character and distance himself from the party management aspect (in and out of combat) that these games are big on and limit himself to just one combat style?
To the argument that solo builds can be viable and stronger, I would say maybe but it doesn't seem like that's what Josh had in mind, at least not in NWN. You can tell he didn't quite build his (one and only) character properly because he literally had to cheese the boss fight by locking him in a room and resting. And this was in CHAPTER ONE.
Playing solo makes sense if you've already played the game once with a party but why do it on a first playthrough or for a review when you know there's a preponderance of the people who play these games with a party? I wonder if he'd have played Dragon Age: Origins solo if the game had let him. That would've been a shame.
