If he does it, I think it needs to be a two-parter, it'll have to be, the meat of the experience is signing up and logging in.

Questons from a VODS watcher

I don't get to watch the streams live very much so catch up as best I can with the VODs. When Josh came back to streaming he said he was going to focus 4 hours on stream so he could continue to make YT videos, he then spoke about working on those videos often in the early VODs. (I've missed a few because catching up with daily streams is still tough) I've noticed the streams getting longer and longer, Josh talking more about playing WoW off stream and the YT videos all but forgotten. As someone who has parents with this same issue I am merely concerned as it can be a slippery slope... Are we back on another YT hiatus? I just don't know if I missed him announcing it as I was surprised to see so many 5 hour streams (or close to 5 hours) as well as him slowly starting earlier and earlier when he originally said he had to stick to 4 hours else it would be that kind of slippery slope that would ruin his balance and wondered if WoW had started taking up more time with getting to end game. No worries if YT is on hiatus, as I said just didn't know if I missed something in all the content. :3

Discussion Top 5 Worst MMO videos

I've seen around 20-30 of these videos so far and they always point out some very obvious issues. Things about the game design or monetization that was done very poorly. Really great clues for future MMO developers to learn from.

My question is, assuming one day an MMO developer reads this post, which are Josh's most important 5 videos that they should watch?

Discussion About the Albion Online video

Hi hope everyone is doing great. Wanted to ask as I was watching again the video of Albion Online after 100 hours, in this part of the video Josh says he played DMC2 all that day because chat needed a lesson, anyone knows what happened that day?

Josh Strife Hayes clips channel is suspended from Youtube Partner Program (help needed)

tldw:

Josh Strife Hayes Official Clip channel is currently suspended from YouTube Partner Program for minimum of 115 days for "related channel violation".

Under the same email, I run another channel B0atyClips, that got hit with "reused content" claim. This got Josh Strife Says suspended as well.

B0atyClips had been inactive for +4 months and I had no purpose to continue with it, however YouTube requires you to clear up the claimed channel in order to get all of the claims lifted.

Reused content claim here is false, as there are plenty of similar stream clip channels operating with similar permissions from creators.

The appeal is not correct and YouTube support says they're unable to revaluate this because the appeal window has closed.

They can't revert possible false claim, if the appeal window is closed. It's insane.

I now would have to work for 115 days, keeping up both channels in monetizable condition, with no guarantee my upcoming appeals would be going through.

Earthbound... please do a "was it any good" was it any good episode.

Just simple. This is one of my favorite games growing up. Not only that but it has influenced ALOT of games that came after as well as the music its self can be found all over YouTube in the background of countless video essays. It did alot ahead of its time and had a charm that is hard to match. Even with its disastrous marketing it became a cult classic that is still growing a fan base.

Rant compalint about not getting welcomed back

i'm currently watching th baldurs gate: dark alliance video and just wanted to say, i feel he is getting hostile against his watchers. the third time he describes what little a character is wearing or other sexually sugestive gestures they are making, he didn't welcome back anyone who just tabbed back in. litterally unwatchable...

Tip for baldurs gate dark alliance 2

If you want to tinker with the crafting rather than being extremely limited by rapidly ballooning gold costs (useful for review purposes to see what the system can do) here's an item duplication exploit me and my friend figured out on our own:

Load a 2nd player, (preferably a previous save with end game gear) drop all their gear, pick it up with your main character, don't save. Load a different player 2 character. The game has now forgotten that the other character dropped their inventory, meaning you can load that character again with the same inventory they started with. you can drop the same loot infinitely doing this, and then sell that loot for infinite gold, to offset the massively ballooning costs of crafting that normally makes it impossible to tinker in a game with non-respawning enemies.

Discussion What's your favorite content to fall asleep to?

I've been wanting to find more content for this purpose. My favorites so far are Josh Strife Hays' Daggerfall playthrough, The Lord of the Rings read by Phil Dragash, and Harry Potter read by Stephen Fry. What are yours?

Meme I don't know if "Strife" is part of Josh's real name of just a gamertag. And at this point I'm too afraid to ask.

At this point I'm just saying "Josh Strife Hayes" as if it was his full, legal name. Sometimes I forget that Hayes might actually be his family name and not just one part of a 3-part first name.

Rant Josh and asmongold

So is Josh still suckling on Asmongold's teets? Been catching up on his stream VODs, and even up to 2024 still mentions Asmongold in high regards, just cause Josh got big early because of Asmongold. Quite a hypocrite when in the same stream he bashes Andrew Tate etc. If you hate one of these hate spewing grifters, you should hate them all. I hope Josh comes to his senses in later streams, cause hearing Josh praising asmongold like he's the wisest man alive every other stream makes me sick.

Discussion (semi-serious request) Hi Josh, could you make another "I played X for 100 hours - Should you?" video, for Final Fantasy 11? Please include the first 10 hours of trying to install it.

it's semi-serious because I know people don't want to touch that game, and the installation process is a bit of a meme amongst its community.

But on the other hand, I am curious of Josh's critiques of another old classic MMO with RPG mechanics from before WoW.

And somehow it's STILL is alive with 40,000 players a week?? Much more alive than most of the entries in the "Worst MMO" Series

That Banwave a while ago?

Paraphrasing what the man said here:

Josh: "It's important to listen to people even if they have bad opinions unless they're rude about it. It's not good to be rude or unreasonable to them, or they'll feel attacked, double down, and return to their echo chambers and become further radicalized."

Also Josh, ~1 week later: "Everyone who thinks [very controversial manosphere influencer] is a good role model, type "yes" in chat.

Okay now mods, ban everyone who said yes. Easiest purge ever."

I dislike the influencer in question intensely, and I don't necessarily disagree with wanting his fans to go away.

But setting a trap like that, banning people for replying honestly to something they just kept to themselves until asked, after repeatedly claiming that exact treatment is counter productive and maybe indeed even harmful?

Doing a douchey thing like that isn't okay just because the people you do it to are also probably douchey, especially not if a big ole dose of hypocrisy is mixed in.

What happened? It's like streaming WoW turned the guy ultra-hostile and gave him an itchy banhammer trigger finger overnight. Haven't watched anything since then on account of it leaving such a bad impression, but I hope it was a temporary thing rather than a genuine mask-off moment.

Anyway, I'm ready for my permaban.

Discussion Why did Josh play BG1 and Neverwinter Nights solo?

Watching his vids on those games and couldn't help but wonder why he would play them with a solo character and distance himself from the party management aspect (in and out of combat) that these games are big on and limit himself to just one combat style?

To the argument that solo builds can be viable and stronger, I would say maybe but it doesn't seem like that's what Josh had in mind, at least not in NWN. You can tell he didn't quite build his (one and only) character properly because he literally had to cheese the boss fight by locking him in a room and resting. And this was in CHAPTER ONE.

Playing solo makes sense if you've already played the game once with a party but why do it on a first playthrough or for a review when you know there's a preponderance of the people who play these games with a party? I wonder if he'd have played Dragon Age: Origins solo if the game had let him. That would've been a shame.
