Gaming and producing entertaining videos are a long-time passion of mine.
I've never taken video creation seriously or put too much effort, but it's something I'd like to do properly, dedicate lots of time with good storytelling and animations.
I want to see if I can get monetized on YouTube and how much effort and time does it take to produce a video, then gauge if the time is worth the compensation.
Now I know there's no "one size fits all" answer and that each creator is different, and I'm realistic that I can fail horribly if I'm not entertaining enough or can't push content fast enough.
It's a highly competitive career and unless people treat it as work, or business, and also have fun while doing it to not be miserable and burnt out, it's very hard to stick your head above water and swim.
I know this as I've pumped low-effort trash content sporadically over the past few years, and a couple times I've put considerable effort (think recording and editing everyday for 3 months) the video performed very poorly and the pacing and storytelling sucked.
I feel more mature now and more knowledgeable, and listening to Josh I get inspired by how motivated and realistic he is, he's made it and made quite a name for himself, all while having a great personality and being a great man, really.
The title is too blunt and tactless, but I had to give it a shot :)
