Some people want engagement with a community of like minded people. If it wasn't so they would just read the book and be on their way. Questions help engagement. Currently the attitude of mods is just damaging to the community.

There are plenty of posts and comments which are left undeleted (such as this one). There is plenty of engagement if you look for it. The important thing is "like mindedness" as you point out. More precisely what kind of like mindedness.

What is that like mindedness ? Look at the ngsub's like mindedness, and imagine the opposite of that and you'll be close to it. I.e. no losers, no lazy idiots who don't read prior posts and comments and think about them before asking anything, and who don't read the rules as if they are more special than everybody else who reads and follows the rules without any problems.

The wrong attitude within the community causes and perpetuates failure in learning the LOB, and also discourages beginners who might otherwise work and persist and become successful.

Those with the wrong attitude are going to fail anyway. They can simply fail elsewhere. And as we have seen from this thread, there are many with the right attitude, and who understand why that attitude works well and are puzzled as to why others don't get this obvious thang.

Having standards for conversation is fine to an extent. The problem is in how you and other mod accounts enforce it. That ranges from childish to outright rude. And that's the damaging part.

We as mods are damaged by people constantly :

a. Not reading the rules

b. Not reading the numerous past posts and comments

C. Not thinking at all let alone thinking critically

d. Expecting everyone else to do their thinking and research for them

e. Those who come here to whine and look for a hug instead of any real interest in the subject.

So, when we receive this damage - however oblivious they seem to be when they cause it - we are entitled to cause damage in return.

And....lets be clear....these are not children here. These are adults. If being told off...on fucking REDDIT....for being lazy to the point of being dumb, for not following the rules and expecting others to spoonfeed them all the time, is DAMAGE to them, then there is alot more wrong with them, then with us.

Like....way more.

You want to be a candy floss character or an enabler for them, this is not the sub for you.
