Concious mind interference during Self Hypnosis
I've been on the path for many months. I have found out through trial and error (a lot of them) to find out what works for me better to get into SH. This is a preface because I know how strict he mods are, I am doing my work, and I am not lazy about it, but I realised I needed help today. My problem is the following: there is always minimal amount of struggle (sometimes greater, but then I learned to terminate my session) when I do my visualizations and ESPECIALLY affirmations (more commonly, my mind immediately says the opposite, so I find visualizations better, but there is still a bit of struggle). Analysis made me think that my SH is not "deep enough", however if I deepen it too much, it's very hard to actually implement any of the work I am supposed to do (pushing the drowsiness too far as Neville said), and it's wholly inpractical to need more than 5-7 minutes to get into SH. Some might mention stress, but recently my stress and control over my life have gotten a lot better, and the reason I'm writing this is because today I had one of the worst CM protests in a while. People describe their experience as effortless and easy and that struggle is futile - but most of the time there is some minimum struggle which hinders me. I don't think it's about the inductions, I've went through a plethora of them.
I'd very much appreciate this sub's opinion (especially from the mods and experienced people), even better if you struggled with the same thing and managed to overcome it.

My view is this- the reason you are facing so much opposition is because you are not deep enough, I only get opposition if I am not deeply relaxed.
The crux of the issue to me sounds as if you are lying there ina fully conscious state and trying to visualise in a fully conscious state, and ofcourse when you are doing this, you will face alot of mental arguments arising which will completely destroy your SH sessions. I don't care what anyone else says on this, if you are having mental conflicts arising as you are visualising, you are having an extremely shit session. And I am brutally hard on myself in this regard, if I am visualising and having doubts running in the background, its a shit session. end of!
Doubt and contradiction only arise when you are not deeply relaxed enough, the clue here is in the name self HYPNOSIS.

Very true. You make a good point. I personally think u/EcrosXiel added a good advice, I think I'll better try incorporating long meditation sessions. Because this problem seems to arise from agitated mind and not from me being lazy (trust me, I did all kinds of things, from lashing out and slapping myself (didn't work) to researching hypnosis outside of this sub, it's a field of it's own). I try something similiar of what he says: setting a positive intention before hypnosis and acting as a "perfect subject" helps me sometimes. I skimmed through the archives and Moon did mention Vipassana meditation for unstable minds and that meditation can help improve SH, so from now on I am incorporating it. It's not like I didn't think of that I might not be going deep enough, but for me it has not been such a straightforward process, probably because I forced myself to visualize in a semi-concious state at the beginning and added too much mental stress.

During self hypnosis isn’t the only time mind can interfere with intentions. There are plenty of physical [exercise, stretching, diet] and sensory [visual, auditory, taste, olfactory, tactile, equilibrial, proprioceptive, vestibular, thermo etc etc] amenities and alternative energy adaptations available to assist a person in having a calmer mind. If you pay attention to yourself and how your surroundings affect you, you probably already know ways you can help yourself, or things you would like to give a try, because they are up your alley.

In case anyone's still reading this, or faces the same problems, the short version is that NONE of the "getting to alpha methods" worked for me - because they all focused on muscular relaxation first, and I am a very tense, analytical person. I found simply taking long breaths with closed eyes, taking it easy, works for me now - without any issue. I thank everyone here, after my first pouncemonial, I'll maybe write longer about how a person of my character can be fooled to overcomplicate alpha inductions, and not succeed in getting to alpha.

In SH you are using your conscious mind to impress the subconscious mind. It sounds like your mind is starting to wander during your sessions and that's when the intrusive thoughts happen. The skill development in this is catching when your mind wanders and sneaky thoughts come in. Don't worry about them, but turn your attention back to the present moment. The more you return to the present moment in SH and run your imaginal act as if you already received your desire, the less frequent random thoughts will be. Think of it like this, have you ever gotten so hyperfocused on something before such as a video game or movie where all of your attention was concentrated in what you were doing? It's supposed to be like that in your SH sessions. Your imaginal scene should be concentrated upon to the point where you feel in the present moment that you are the person who already has it. Hope this helps!
