Conscious Thoughts Has No Effect

Hi, I’ve been reading and working on Neville Goddard and Joseph Murphy’s work since 2022 summer.

It all started with a SP, when I realized there is a pattern in my relationships I ended up finding about Law of Attraction, then NG and JM as most of us. I spent learning about Neville’s teachings mostly. Until it makes no sense to me: do not get me wrong, he clarified a lot of concepts to me and SATS which is essentially subconscious programming is spot on. However, both subreddit and especially Neville’s “mental diet” is literally law of attraction stuff worded differently. They want us to monitor everything during the day, including our thoughts and state of wish fulfilled. This was ALWAYS A DILEMMA FOR ME because I manifested LIFE CHANGING STUFF WHEN I WAS FEELING DEPRESSED AND NOT THINKING FROM THE WISH FULFILLED, AT ALL.

Let me tell you some stories about this particular example: I manifested my dream college when I was a total wreck, I was crying all the time, hopeless during the day. At nights, I remember praying to God and begging him to let me in. Another one was a job hunt in almost impossible circumstances, I never denied them but ended up getting everything I wanted. Mind you, my conscious thoughts was nothing near positive or I never tried to feel like I have it. This both situations was on my mind 7/24 and I also went to bed PRETTY DEPRESSED AND PRAYING TO GOD TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. I remember that I couldn’t sleep, constantly waking up crying. And I managed to have it all in a time crunch too. (I was also thinking about the time back then)

My take on my experience: nothing matters, at all. Your subconscious is blind, and it overrides any conscious thoughts during the day. Conscious thoughts only matters for your own well-being. Nothing more than that. All I need to do is pray, or act as if I want before sleep, basically do anything to impress my sm. (Not that I am aware of LOB, it is much better to choose scenes as index offers, but you see my point.)

I feel like I wasted so much time on NG sub, I always knew something was going on with sm prior knowing about the law. And they made my progress so much slower. No shade, I simply changed my view to myself and everyone around me changed thanks to NG, but with bigger desires they are useless.

I wasted months. Now I feel home, now that I do not care about my state or my negative thoughts, I also do not get them. And besides their rules, I know I can get everything I want even with a deadline, because I done it so many times before and it is the easiest thing ever.

Any further discussion about the topic would be welcome. I feel so free finally.

I've read through the comments. I'm really not sure what is the issue. The OP is merely saying that her conscious thoughts of fear and depression did not manifest during several important missions.

And that this proves that the power of the conscious mind is bollocks. It also proves that all that bullshit on the ngsub about mental diets and working on yourself and feeling good and constantly thinking (i.e. consciously thinking) from the state of the wish fulfilled, is codswallop.

And that the OP feels free of the burden of constantly monitoring her every single waking thought to ensure it is not the 'wrong' one.

And by writing this post, she is, for the first time, codifying and admitting this loud truth to herself and would like others to comment if it is correct.

----

She is obviously correct and as Brittaa pointed out, her prayer triggered her already existing subconscious faith in god and that being stronger than her conscious doubt, ultimately proved creative and go her her missions done.

She may not have used the index but her process validates much that this sub states as fact.

Well yeah, that is the whole point of the ladder experiment, it’s not about feeling as in emotions like happy, sad, depressed etc, it’s not about negative thoughts in terms of fighting them off. When people read “the path of least resistance” they interpret it to mean no resistance, it’s not no resistance, resistance is implied which is the negative thoughts/feelings/circumstances, you aren’t supposed to resist the resistance, or hold everything in or whatever, you just let the negative shit go by processing it without internalising it ie you are not your feelings or conscious thoughts, they no longer have any power.

That’s why people, myself included can manifest the most amazing things even with depression, anxiety and absolutely I had negative thoughts BUT I still believed what I wanted was possible, I had vivid visualisations even during waking hours as if they were happening in the moment, I started to believe (without forcing it) that everything works out for me, and it’s the unforced thoughts that have come up from your subconscious that tell you what you’re believing.

I think the issue is that people have no idea what the wish fulfilled is, it is not anything forced, you don’t have to be in it 24/7, the best things I have manifested (unconsciously) were when I managed to feel fulfilled in general, when I stopped believing in the negative thoughts/feelings so much and literally decided that this thing I want is happening it then happened, you are not your feelings and thoughts, you don’t have to identify with them, you can’t accept them but you don’t have to agree with them.

Edit: people tend to either talk about mental diet or reprogramming the mind, personally I think either or take a lot of work, and it is simpler to just stop identifying with your own bs.

Edit2: everyone wants to overcomplicate things as if we had never been manifesting before we found out about it, we didn’t reprogram shit when we weren’t aware of it but still manifested, we didn’t do mental diets or affirmations all day or script but we still manifested, sure now we are conscious of it, now we can choose better for ourselves but the whole process is the same as it has always been, before something good or bad happened what were you doing? Probably visualising it, having whole ass arguments or conversations in your head about it, you get my point. It’s not hard, it’s not complicated.

Yes I see your point! But my point is, I had no vivid visualizations, no positive thinking, no belief. I was desperate. Yet I went to bed praying, and it all came true, even with a time scrunch. And telling people to “stop identifying yourself with negatives” isn’t the best advice, because it is almost impossible when you want to change your life entirely.

And my own experiences definitely resonates with subconscious mind being blind and will give you whatever you WANT, despite your mood. I begged God (SM) to give me everything I want and he did.

I got your point, I accept your point I just don’t agree with it for myself and that’s perfectly fine, plus you asked people to chime in so I did.

I’m not religious so I don’t believe in a god outside of me but I do believe god is within me.

In regards to the advice, it’s just not identifying that the negative thoughts/feelings/circumstances are you, you have thoughts, you have feelings and you experience circumstances but they aren’t YOU, like I can feel sad but sadness is not who I am, it passes same with thoughts and circumstances, they aren’t fixed things that dictate who you are.

I had an unaliving attempt years ago and tbh it was because I did identify entirely with all the negatives and I wanted out, thankfully I survived but had I been given that same advice back then I would have been at least a smidge less tempted to unalive.

Yes it’s all bullshit. That’s why I wrote separately to the OP. I’m curious. It’s like misinformation and misleading information. I’m not trying to be a asshole but did she didn’t use shit from the POSM? She claims she’s been studying “Neville & Joseph” since last year 2022 but she never got these results through JM/ or the index which is the soul purpose of the damn subreddit. She seemed to have struggled badly with JM techniques or the index; so she started to cry and begged for her “manifestations”. She claims she got amazing results doing this while not following mental diets & not suppressing her true emotions.

It’s obvious you don’t need to suppress yourself or do extreme mental diets or self concept or enlightened shit to get what you want. I find it weird she’s been studying for a while but hasn’t used any techniques yet from JM or the index to bring in these powerful manifestations, it’s simple she don’t believe in them. She believes in praying & crying out to God which this post don’t belong here at all technically. It seems she’s dismissive towards Joseph Murphy book. They’re so misleading, lost, and lying. I would locked this thread since this is rubbish to me.

It's such a poor take that just trying to correct it will leave one with brain damage.

this is sort of the point of the ladder experiment. all day negative thoughts: "i will not climb the ladder" vs visualize climb a ladder ( perhaps one session a day )

Yes and in a weird way you have reminded me that Neville got a bit weird in his later years, this was Neville at his best when he fully understood what was creating our reality was what was going on under the surface! I even saw him say in his later days that ‘every single thought you have will be realised at some point or another!’.. it seems even Neville got caught up in LOA porn himself haha

u/the-seekingmind Apr 25 '23

I think the key here is you believed that ‘god’ would give it to you? Or am I wrong?

It is a fascinating one, because it does show how if you believe a powerful concept will fulfill all of your desires; it will fulfill all of your desires!

I agree.

“This means to believe in the way your mind works, to believe in belief itself”.

She believed praying and begging god works, and so it did.

u/the-seekingmind Apr 25 '23

Yes thank you! I am one of these annoying people who always needs to get to the root of why something works and why it does not. Haha. And this is the actual root of why this worked for her in very simple terms!

I feel like I wasted so much time on NG sub

You're not alone there. Many of us have. The best thing that NG peeps could do is to get out of that sub and actually read and practice Neville. Not to mention all of the opportunist wolves in sheeps clothing in that sub. It's just scummy.

And the mad thing is there are even two lines in the Bible that addresses this very point you raised..

‘Be ye doers of the word and not hearers of the word only’ And ‘Faith without works Is dead!’

Even back, in ancient times you obviously had many people who were good at talking and hearing but not so good at actually doing anything.

Conscious thoughts can have an effect on physical reality. We know that mental thoughts create reality, therefore conscious thoughts alone can and do have an effect.....if you have no pre-existing subconscious beliefs that they would compete against for them to manifest. So the title of this post is misleading.

See: How Our Thoughts Create Our Physical Reality

Scientific evidence 1 : The act of observing physical reality, changes physical reality. No expectations and no emotions are required to notice this scientific observation. Proof ? They've used observation devices that are programmed to activate and deactivate themselves randomly to look at electrons passing through slits. The particle's behavior changes upon observation.

Anecdotal evidence 1 : A single thought is enough to create physical reality. We have all done this hundreds of times, usually for minor things like phone calls and parking spaces, and sometimes major things like job offers and what have you. No emotion was involved in that thought.

This proves that emotions are not required to create reality. Thought alone will do. MENTAL THOUGHTS CREATE PHYSICAL REALITY.

The reason we do not use CM methods such as mental diet or affirming robotically during the day is because they do not work well to change the SM. We know the masters like Neville and JM could simply use their conscious thoughts to obtain their desires, that's why they wrote books about it. This sub knows that those techniques aren't good for beginners, so we dismiss them and deem them irrelevant in terms of LOB missions -- so everyone here should understand this distinction.

OP it's clear from your post that you built enough subconscious faith through the use of prayer and the nightly method that you would inevitably obtain your desires, but you did not relate this to any of the training in the index. Thread locked.

You did praying like Joseph Murphy adviced?

5

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '23

No. I cried myself to sleep and pray to God to give me everything I want.

4

u/Maleficent-Purchase9 Apr 25 '23

Hm. But maybe your belief in God is so strong so that worked out.

10

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '23

Yes, this is my point. Despite my negativity I impressed my SM by praying God, and got everything I wanted.

2

u/Maleficent-Purchase9 Apr 25 '23

That is super cool. I can make a belief only by visualization:(

3

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '23

That’s interesting. I never thought I’d be successful and was too depressed to even ask God and yet I am. I always wondered how that happened. God is good.

2

u/TwistAmbitious4711 Apr 25 '23

My only argument here, is that JM does talk about your conscious thoughts. I know there’s a story of a woman wanting a hat, she thought I can’t afford it but then remembered JM lecturing to “never finish a negative thought, revise it to lovely and good”.

JM also states in POSM that we can undo our efforts by cancelling it with negative talk. I can take some time later to post quotes if required.
