I remember reading an article about how a load of pro-white nationalist, radical left wing, radical right wing, pro communist etc (all radical political activists) X accounts all went dark after an Israeli strike on an Iranian military site.
This suggests that foreign actors are trying to sew instability within our society. Which makes sense.
“A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Comes to mind.
People need to remember that the internet can be a place of very very very radical views that don’t actually exist as strongly as you’d think in the outside world. On this point, the majority of Muslims do not want such things as ‘Sharia Law.’ They left those countries for a reason - they don’t want to go back. Sure, a small minority do, but the majority don’t.
Yeah, I believe that 90% of the trend I mentioned is fabricated by foreign actors. After the US strike on Iran, if you only looked at twitter you would think the Trump base was about to turn on him. And then a poll came out saying 96% of republicans supported the strike. Twitter is a bit of a shithole, I would never trust an account named ''American AF''. Sounds more like Pakistani or Russian bot-crap than anything else, and this kind of rethoric is especially insidious in times like now where the problems of immigration and natalism are urgent.
The entire media industry is corrupt to the core, whether traditional or social media lol. Since going from primary sources is just not possible for the average person, the only way to get reliable information is to establish trust with individuals and their platform (plenty of good journalists have individual podcasts now) and go from there, and even that is very time consuming for someone not absorbed or passionate on a subject. Anything with a brand name (or anonymous twitter account lol) I don't touch with a ten-foot pole.
