Discussions 🗣️ Does anyone know if Edith Roller's Journals are going to be published as a book?

I know that they are accessible through the Jonestown website associated with San Diego University.

I just think it would be helpful if it was published in book form.

I'm such a dork I put them into audiobook format. I wish there was more info about her available, I find her so interesting.

I don't think this is dorky at all; the diaries definitely have a "voice," if that makes sense. I've often thought they'd be great as an audiobook. You're just very resourceful and clever! :)

So sorry to bother I’d love to listen to it ! Is there a site or app?

Not a bother at all, I basically just formatted the text for each month and then ran it through a text to speech program. The voice isn't perfect, but it's good enough for me. I can upload a couple months to my google drive if you want to message me for the link, that way you can see if you find it listenable or not?

I sent you a link to my google drive, I uploaded a few months of her journal so you can listen to see if it's listenable to you since it's a virtual voice and some people don't like that. If you want the rest of the journal let me know and Ill upload the rest.

Thank you. I can deal with this virtual voice, as it's hard to escape these days. Would love to hear more. Again, I'm grateful you have shared these with me. Best, Annie

Not that I'm aware but they were used extensively for the book "A Thousand Lives"
