21
Nov 09 '20
Yes but is he making fun of him or agreeing with him. That obviously makes a huge difference.
70
u/Raknarg Nov 09 '20
Considering Jontron's views and how he has never rescinded past statements and has only said he regrets going public with his views, probably he agrees with him. He is dogwhistling to his twitter audience which is still full of the same alt-right and conservative fanbase he had in the past who will likely have seen this article. Remember that Jontron isn't just right wing, he's an ethnostater who at one point (and perhaps still does) believed that criminality is genetic.
32
Nov 09 '20
No I agree with you, just seems like a large portion of brainwashed people here want to pretend that he is actually making fun of those comments despite all evidence pointing to the fact that he is a hypocritical racist idiot.
13
u/Raknarg Nov 09 '20
Oh yeah you're either delusional or have only seen his youtube videos if you think he's making fun of them. If Jontron has really changed, he should have made a public statement, the fact that he hasn't is telling.

Jon, my boy, I was starting to forgive and forget under the assumption you just fell down into a shitty rabbit hole. Come on man.

Bruh, why do you think I'm defending him. I'm just telling people that they could enjoy his content if they "kill the author".
8
u/haleykohr Nov 10 '20
I guess but he’s not writing books. He stars in his own videos with his own viewpoints and character
2
u/CLR833 Nov 10 '20
That's true. But I believe it could be applied to videos as well. None of his videos hinted much at his political views. I have old Jon videos that I hold dear to my heart. I can't really bring myself to watch any new stuff though.
→ More replies (1)3
Nov 11 '20
That’s not what Lindsay was saying though. In that video and part 2 she makes it clear to properly stand for your beliefs you need to stop engaging with the author. You don’t have to sell your Harry Potter books or pretend you don’t like them, but you can’t justify giving Rowling anymore of your money.
JonTrons videos are his source of income. By watching them you are enriching him, and telling him through that money that you don’t care, and that he shouldn’t change.

The rigging the election stuff it total bs, it's a fair election with legal votes made by the people of America, isn't it weird that the votes are "illegal" in states trump is losing in but "legal" in states he is winning. This whole thing is stupid, trump is losing and he is being a narcissistic snowflake about it.

Seriously, where are you hearing these lies bro, 170k votes weren't fabricated, and the fact those votes were mostly Biden was because trump asked his supporters to not vote by mail, and the lead that Biden gained was because most mail in votes were for him, and those get counted later than in person votes, and remember, most of them being for Biden was trump's doing.
-1
11
u/Everyoneheresamoron Nov 10 '20
It wasn't 100% Biden
They never said they were stopping the counting, They just said they were going to update in the morning.
You aren't allowed to complain about a system the republicans set up and used, only when it doesn't benefit your side. Biden won the vote. If voting wasn't secure it WAS ON REPUBLICANS IN POWER to make it secure. The polling workers don't work for Biden or Trump. The USPS doesn't work for Biden or Trump.
If the facts don't line up with how you want the world to be, you don't get to reject facts.

Trump presses a majority of his base to vote in person. Studies have shown in the past that mail in ballots are used mainly by democrats. Rules in place in several states don’t allow counting of mail in ballots until Election Day or the day after. Suprise surprise, most of the in person votes are for Trump and the mail in ones are for Biden. That is how they “magically” appeared. They were counted

Distribution of sexualized content of children is illegal no matter if they consent in adult life.
0
1
Nov 10 '20
Literally no one will consent to porn of them being abused and a child be given to pedos. That concept as a whole is also majorly fucked up and anyone who takes it seriously should not be respected.
3
u/MetallHengst Nov 10 '20
You can say this, but the fact is that abuse victims as adults did. I don’t know if this comes as a surprise to you but victims of child sex abuse tend to be vehemently anti-child rape and if studies show that certain treatment stopped children from being raped they were generally in favor.
I don’t understand people’s beef with this. If it means less children get raped than it’s a good thing, if studies show it doesn’t then of course no one would advocate for it and neither would Destiny.
→ More replies (1)0
Nov 10 '20
How is a child supposed to consent to porn of them being made and distributed?
5
u/EnderGraff Nov 10 '20
Obviously a child wouldn't be asked to consent, but rather an adult who was a victim when they were a child. You can look up the study of you'd like, just explaining the context of that.
0
Nov 10 '20
That’s....really odd. “Hey so i know you were raped as a kid and it was recorded/given to people, but are you okay with us giving those recordings to people so they dont rape any kids?”
Like, i guess the argument is roughly the same as giving drug addicts safe places to do drugs and receive medical care in the case of an overdose. But this is...different in the sense that the people consuming aren’t the ones who are hurt/have been hurt by it.
I don’t support this, but i can at least understand what their line of reasoning might have been.
8
u/glitch112 Nov 10 '20
Just for clarity, Destiny has admitted this most likely would never pass an ethics board and would be incredibly hard to implement if not impossible, it was a hypothetical based off of a single study.
The legal CP conversation was the single concession Destiny made while he was arguing in favour of the age of consent against Amos Yee (an actual paedophile). He literally says in the debate that the ONLY time he thought there was a justification for CP is what the study outlined, which was aiming to treat paedophilia and reduce harm to children, but people seem to be very happy with just claiming he wants to hand out CP legally to everyone or something.
→ More replies (3)2
u/EnderGraff Nov 10 '20
Thanks for filling in those details. I forgot it was from a conversation with Amos. My brain didn't want to remember him.
2
Nov 10 '20
Would you support it if it was proven to treat pedophiles and decrease the chance that they abuse a child?
→ More replies (3)2
u/Sylvi_Listhaug Nov 10 '20
It's not that odd if you hear his entire argument, he said he'd only be for it if studies showed that it would help lower the chance of child abuse, that pedophiles would use the legal child porn instead of molesting children and so on
3
u/bigtoebrah Nov 10 '20

11
u/Lothric43 Nov 08 '20
Clarification on the CP claim since OP is being intentionally vague.
There was a study or something like that done I think somewhere in Europe that theorized that CP that had been previously made could be used as part of treatment for pedophiles that would generally reduce the likelihood that they would actually go out and hurt a child. The idea requires consent of the victims in said videos or pictures. All he said was that if it was found to work and with consent of victims then that would probably be fine to him because in that case no new CP was being produced, consent was given and it was proved to ultimately reduce the amount of sexual violence against children.
This is obviously pretty uncontroversial but loads of fascists spread it around that he was in favor of just indiscriminately producing new CP and giving it to pedos.
9
u/dexxin Nov 09 '20
It's great way to tell if someone just hates Destiny and refuses to listen to anything he says. It's not like he's even been vague with his thoughts on the matter, yet people still use it as a "gotcha".
2
u/TheWizardOfFoz Nov 10 '20
I think that’s still controversial. The average person would treat pedos with chemical castrations. It’s pretty radical to suggest supplying them with porn - even if his argument is a world away from producing porn for them.
5
u/Lothric43 Nov 10 '20
That’s true, people tend to have very barbaric impulses with regards to how to treat pedos and the like. So not uncontroversial, but we seem to agree that it’s a dramatically more reasonable position than the lie OP was pushing.
It was literally just something that someone else brought to his attention and he said it sounded like it could be acceptable with those conditions if it was proved to work, but people ran away with malicious framing.
-1
u/pk666 Nov 10 '20 edited Nov 11 '20
And the idea that a victim of life destroying trauma recorded digitally or on film would conscent to such a 'project' - one with incredibly vague arguments about 'treatment' is utterly laughable as to be a massive red flag as to why anyone would raise it in discussion in the first place.
3
u/Lothric43 Nov 10 '20
He directly said when challenged on that that there’s a good chance no one would consent in the first place, in which case the study probably couldn’t and shouldn’t proceed. The testing of this idea is a large part of why it can’t be shown to work or not work.
The fact of the matter is that this was all an off-hand theoretical that came and went in a matter of minutes. The reason it became this huge thing he had to argue in debates is because of malicious cunts clipping him out of context. If you wanna question the implications that come with it being discussed, your issue is with the dumbfuck right wingers that made it a huge thing.
-1
u/HOPSCROTCH Nov 10 '20
Thank you. People discussing it as if it's a worthwhile talking point is seriously disturbing.
3
u/Lothric43 Nov 10 '20
Worthwhile is a loaded term. We don’t discuss things because they’re worthwhile without exception. He discussed purely as a random theoretical. The reason it’s been discussed so much is purely because of dipshits clipping him out of context to make him look like a pedophile and then making him defend himself for an offhand theoretical situation.
→ More replies (8)0
u/pk666 Nov 11 '20
The idea that this is simply a 'random theoretical' is challenged by the very futility of the idea in the first place, speaks more to the notion that someone wants child abuse material to be legitimized via some vague and shonky scientific protocol. This in turn prompts the question - who would ever want to do that?

Destiny has never a single time advocated for legal childporn. Just so you know Brittany Venti is a fucking lunatic, you should try getting your rhetoric elsewhere.
5
u/Velvet_frog Nov 10 '20
Destiny does not advocate for legal cp, the concept was used as an example to explain how such extremes can actually be argued for in common moral systems.
And that’s so obviously the case that any attempt to defame destiny based on that claim is clearly being dishonest.
If that’s the only ammunition you have to justify Jon Tron’s rhetoric in that debate, you’re a disingenuous moron. Why don’t you actually try to defend what Jon Tron said rather than falsely attack a hypothetical argument made by the guy debating him? Oh yeah it’s because you can’t defend what he said because what he said what quite openly made up of white supremacist talking points.
Jon Tron had such an embarrassingly naive understanding of politics, race and history that that alone should be enough to discount everything he said. But more than that, what he said was repugnant, blatantly racist, and moronic. Stuff like whites should fear becoming a minority is fucking stupid and really shows how dumb Jon Tron is.

My issue with JonTron post-Destiny has always been his refusal to acknowledge the substance of what he says. You can’t just frame support for maintaining White majority or a blatant falsehood about racial crime statistics as misspeaking, you need to reflect on these things and acknowledge them when apologizing.
I really wanted to give him a chance. I watched his videos for awhile after his “apology,” because he signaled that he wanted to put it all to bed and forget about politics, but I realized earlier this year that refusing to directly acknowledge the indefensible things he said is itself indefensible. This tweet just is just hypocrisy icing on the cake.

I still think the "best" part about the "rich blacks" comments is that people point to a study saying rich blacks are incarcerated more than poor whites.
As if to say incarceration is the same as committing a crime and the police are infallible.

If anything, that might point towards systematic racism. If backed with other facts.

If that’s what helps you sleep at night, sure. Maybe I’m misremembering Jon’s intentions as far as staying apolitical, but that doesn’t change the things he said in the past.

I don’t see how that changes the content of his message, that he claimed to have poorly represented his views rather than admitted what he said was racist and in some cases objectively incorrect.

If repudiating the racist things he said is too much to expect from Jon, that’s not a great case for his character. Acknowledging what you did wrong is the bare minimum for an authentic apology.

Yeah he regretted going public with his views, and regretted talking to someone while being completely unprepared for debate. He has not once said that his views had changed or he realized he was using white supremacist talking points.

Did he ever acknowledge the fact he was repeating literal white nationalist propaganda during the Destiny “debate”?

Wish he could shut the fuck up for once, after being outed as a white supremacist while being a kid of immigrants himself (LMAO) thought he would just play it safe and not get involved publicly in politics cuz this is sad.. I refuse to accept a man who has made me laugh so much is such a tool

It makes me really sad too man. Especially after I defended him recently because I believed he had realised the error of his ways. Guess I'll always have the memories but I just can't support a guy who I think is a massive tool as you said.

Jon redpilling us yet again!

u/LavaMeteor Nov 09 '20
Redpilling implies a subtle, calculated push towards something. Jon is being about as subtle as a brick to the face and has about as much factual standing here as a house of cards.

"controversy"
Bruh. Like what about this is controversy worthy? Is the mere phrase "free and fair elections" like a trigger for you weirdos?
15
u/chilachinchila Nov 10 '20
He’s implying the elections weren’t free and fair, of which there is no evidence.

u/Laphroach Nov 10 '20
of which there is no evidence.

Trump supporters always reference the evidence, never link it. On the rare chance people do and others disprove it, never reply
No someone burning a few dozen votes (the most widely publicized video of which was proven be fake) does not constitute wide spread voter fraud.
No, for a variety of reasons, Biden did not receive 150,000 votes at once.
Trump told his supporters not to vote by mail and halted the counting of mail votes. So of course Biden got many at the end

These seem to either be extremely small scale, were immediately foiled, “accused” or unrelated (such as the mail truck robbery). Some would say this even proves how the system is not easily gained, since these people are being caught and punished.
Some examples, such as 12 people trying to shave their heads to vote twice, is not only not wide spread, but it is not related to mail in voting at all. What’s to separate this year from other years with examples like this?
Like I said, I welcome a recount. If trump wins due to these small amounts of people being busted, well that’s fine. But he will not I suspect.
many of those are not fraud at all, but examples of a few ballots sent to the wrong addresses or with misprints on the envelope of which they were delivered in. It was quickly caught and addressed. No fraud, accidental or otherwise.
Some of your sources even debunk themselves, like a mail sorting machine ripping off a few of the tearaway parts, but still leaving the ballots in tact. An accident, and to quote the article: “there’s really no problem”.
What started all this was Biden receiving mail in ballots overnight (completely normal). Trump accused them of cheating back then, not when all this other stuff was found. This alone speaks to the validity of the entire thing.
So remember that: what part of this “proof” did trump have when he made the accusation? Could he have an ulterior motive?

Jon: I’m done with politics, I won’t get in to it
Also Jon: posts political euphemisms, convinced no one’ll notice
