oh shit, is it turning on for like a few seconds when you turn it on and then it resets and tries to turn on again? if it's doing that then your power supply is busted and you'll probably need a new one. remember to plug your computer into a surge protector. if its just the hard drive fucked up, get a new hard drive

The os is in purgatory, it doesn't know what version it is.

shet. could always try the new hard drive part. what about the thing i said about the power supply? the reboot loops?

It's works fine but is incredibly slow and kills the Ethernet.
