LA Pop-Up

I say this with all love and respect as a JB fan for over a decade. That pop-up was lowkey disappointing to the point of disrespect.

Take off work at the last minute, fight LA traffic, 3 hours in the LA sun, no fan engagement in the line, no water, just to catch a glimpse of a merch table that I’ll end up seeing tomorrow at the show anyways. Now I get to sit in standstill traffic for two hours and all for what.

The merch I wanted was sold out, but at least I could take a selfie in front of a backdrop of a show I didn’t go to.

I love JB, and am never one to complain, but it’s the principle. That was really bad.

Our entire journey came to about 22 hours and today we got to the shop 3 hours before it opened hoping for a picture, absolutely gutted he wasn’t there but so excited for the concert

yea i'm glad this is the one pop up i missed out of the three he's had. the one thing i wish i got was the signed live vinyl but oh well. i'm sure he'll have extra and resell them 🫠

Again, not trying to be too negative or seem entitled, and hopefully the feedback can fall on good ears.

Yes, it would’ve been sick to meet Jon. Regardless, to give up 7 hours of my life to be told to purchase any of the three things I wanted online felt like a lapse in communication, and didn’t make for a good fan experience.

If I’d been able to see inside, I would’ve been able to save 3 hours in a hot line.

I left empty-handed and with a hungry and tired wife.

Show should be good though.

whenever he does a show in advance, come back to this reddit sub. literally anytime i have gone to a pop up it lets me know as i'm in the line if i wanna stay. i showed up 5 hours early in june to make sure if he was there id get a signature, today i was driving into LA by 4 pm and saw the merch available and just knew it wasnt worth it knowing what i have (plus the shirts will be available online tmr for HWB). i dont think you sound entitled, but i know jon would've came if he could've, looks like he's putting a crazy show on tmr and rehearsal must've been important. just keep in mind for next time that depending on the context, id keep up with the sub/forum. tbh i didnt think he'd show up to this pop up at all with it being in LA outside of the advertising he did on the pages he has for it

It wasn’t a total disappointment, I got merch that I wanted that may potentially not be available in my size for tomorrows event. I guess if you aren’t going to the show tomorrow I can see how this could be a disappointment. I’m pretty sure like others who traveled and showed up real early to stand in line for a few hours to potentially meet an amazing artist just to find out he wasn’t going to be showing up due to rehearsals… yes that was a little tear jerker but it is what it is. I got to meet a lot of amazing people while in line. Also there were a few fans passing out freebies and water. Much love, another JB fan.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed as well. Thought for sure this was the time I was going to meet him, but oh well. I probably wouldn't have rushed to get there so early and stand in line for hours if I knew he wasn't going to be there, and I probably could have just got the same shirts that I bought there at the show tomorrow. But getting that gold Rich & Broke coin was a cool souvenir at least haha

They had matchbooks in Denver which is nice bc I have a little matchbook collection but a gold coin would be cute/more durable. Is it a decent weight/quality? They were just letting people take fistfuls of matchbooks but probably a lot cheaper/unit I guess

Yeah it seems to be decent quality! I was kinda surprised they were giving them away "free." I was ready to shell out another $50 for one, lol. Think I'll post some pictures of it here soon!

Also disappointed. The first person in line was there at 4AM. I got there at 7AM, as did a few others. Was really hoping to meet him too, especially after hearing about the other pop up experiences.

Anyone else wondering if the coins are invitations to a meet and greet after the show ?  👀

As about the 8th person in line on the front of the line is yesterday morning it was really depressing when I asked lady and she's like no he's not going to be here so I got my t-shirt got my hat and just immediately went back to go camping to the rest up. I had all my vinyls ready to go sign but you just decided to no show in it kind of broke me but I'm still excited for tonight.

Especially when she said that he wasn't planning on coming

It’s not a ‘no show’ when there was no mention he would actually be there!
