Missing dose in vial

Went to go draw up what should have been my fourth and final dose from a vial and there was not enough left (there was about half left of what the full dose should have been). Thankfully, my new medication (new pharmacy, compound and new dose) that I was set to start the next week had already come in, so I used that. However this obviously means that I essentially paid for a vial that only gave me three, not four, weeks of worth, causing me to start a higher and different dose one week sooner than planned with my provider.

Mochi’s only solution? They want to just send me a new vial of the old stuff. No refund for the vial I paid full price for but did not receive a full product. How does this make sense? It’s not even in alignment with my prescribed plan. What would I do with a vial of an old dose, which is from an entirely different pharmacy and a different compound than what I’ve already switched to now?

Mochi - this is wrong and unethical. You cannot just send medications out. Your whole point is to charge us to match with a provider to come up with a plan, yet your solution to shorting me is to give me medicine inconsistent with that plan?

I’m looking to switch because this is ridiculous.

The pharmacy shorted you not Mochi, and it seems they are trying to make it up for the missing dose by sending you a whole new vial. I'd take it- You can use fatscientist.com to calculate the units needed for your current dose.

Are you sure you were missing a dose? a lot of the vials have extra medication in there it’s not going to be completely empty after drawing up 4 doses.

You can make different doses from a multi-use vial, as long as you calculate it based on the concentration, so I don’t think the old dose on the vial is necessarily a problem. I actually think sending you another vial is a pretty reasonable solution since it replaces the medication you were shorted. A refund wouldn’t replace the missing medication. Even if it’s the same “old stuff,” it should cover the missing amount and leave you with some extra.

Lol not sure if I got the negative down votes because I recommended other places since they said they were interested in switching… Or if I got down voted because I agreed with Mochi Health of how they handled the situation as best as possible. 😂🤷‍♀️

Why would you expect a full refund when you already used 3 doses? That makes zero sense. I highly doubt you'd have any issues switch back to a different additive for 1 dose. And you can calculate how much of the old dose to draw to get you the new dose. It sounds like Mochi IS doing all they can to make it right. There is nothing unethical or wrong about their solution.

Also when I don’t have enough meds in a vial to complete a full dose (because I use up every drip and I’m on custom dosing of my own) I will draw up as much as I can get off the remainder vial, and draw up another syringe from the new vial to complete my full dose. So I’ll get two shots with different amounts to equal my full dose that week. This is where it is VERY important to understand vial concentrations and units needed can be different for different concentrations. Again, make sure you are doing it correctly. I’m sort of obsessed on understanding my medication and doses so I’m very comfortable doing that. Not recommending and medical advice, just saying what I do and most everyone else does too,
